    Hi guys,

Quick questions – has anyone taken the FAR final review one day course. I am going through the Becker software book now, but feel like I might need an extra push right before the exam.

Before I spend the money, would appreciate hearing other people's pros and cons.

    thanks!

    E

I thought it was worth it. It's a high level review of points you should already know, but it is nice to see it all again one last time before the exam. Used it for REG after I got a 74, and now using it for FAR. Didn't use it for the other 2 sections.

    ? AUD - 87 (8/12/09)
    ? REG - 77 (1/15/10
    ? BEC - 77 (1/6/09 - Expired) / 79 (11/18/10)
    ? FAR - 75 (2/11/11)

    glogo,

I don't think the 2010 AICPA questions have been released. I found the 2008 and 2009 questions to be very helpful and fresh because I had memorized the Becker questions and answers.

    elena,

The Becker Final Review is very helpful for FAR because of the volume of information. I used the Final Reviews right before my REG and FAR exams.

Today is my last big study day before the test. I took it off work to really cram because I still only have 23 hours of studying under my belt this time around :S

For those of you who take the test tomorrow…. try to not study too much this afternoon. They say to just relax and do something non test related the night before your test πŸ™‚ GOOD LUCK TOMORROW!!! You guys know this stuff!!!

Now I am back to FAR. I sat for REG yesterday. As always I have this feeling it would be borderline which I hate. Why I never go out of an exam and say: I nailed it! It never happened to me. I always go back to the book after an exam and find a bunch of errors I made. And the simulations were just out of this world… Anyways, I am back with my good old FAR. I am looking forward to join you guys in your suffering.

Yesterday i was thinking I could write some formulas on my blue paper before I start my exam but they didn't allow this at the testing center. They said I was not allowed to write anything until my clock start ticking. Has there been a change in the rules? It used to be possible…

I see a lot of you have their exams in the next few days. GOOD LUCK everyone! It feels like we are part of one family now. To the question whether or not study on the next day before the exam: I am doing my last “cram” the day of the exam. I usually come to the testing center 3 hours earlier and sit in my car and go through the highlighted stuff one more time quickly. It has helped me a lot. But if it just increases your nervousness, don't do it…

I plan to study most of the day today. I find that looking at the stuff one last time the day before the exam helps me lessen the “OMG, I forgot how to do that” factor. Just got through F1 questions (not including the Supp), scored a 68 out of 81 questions. On to F2… I really don't understand why I struggle with these Nonmonetary Exchange questions… argh.

    ? AUD - 87 (8/12/09)
    ? REG - 77 (1/15/10
    ? BEC - 77 (1/6/09 - Expired) / 79 (11/18/10)
    ? FAR - 75 (2/11/11)

    FARbehind,

They give you 10 or 15 minutes to read the instructions on how to use the computer for the exam, but I use that time to write down my formulas and notes. Looks like we are taking FAR at the end of the month together. Keep me straight!

    glogo,

Nonmonetary exchanges make no sense to me: commercial substance v lack thereof, gain based on a % of boot received in proportion to the consideration v different rules for boot given, FV, BV, etc. I always get these questions wrong.

I am with you all. Non monetary exchanges, CONSOLIDATIONS (UGH!), pensions, marketable securities gives me goose bumps.
