Hey, I am taking FAR next friday, April 30th. I was wondering, from those of you who passed using Becker, what did you average on the MCQ when you would go through a topic. I normally get somewhere between 55-72% more often than not in the 65-70% range. Is this bad? Good? This is pretty much without my book or right after i do a quick refresher look for like 15 minutes.

I have gone through all the stuff once which i was kinda just trying to get through since we kept learning new stuff. Recently i have gone back and redone lectures 1-6. I am going to do the remaining lectures in the next few days and take the prectice exam this week. I am still normally averaging about the same on the MCQs except for maybe right after i look at a topic so its fresh in my head.

When I take the practice exam, what do i need to feel comfortable going into the exam? Also any suggestions on what to do during the home stretch? This is my first exam btw.

Also, I just bought that guy Jeff's (administator for this site) notes for FAR, did anyone else do this, they were only $18. If so do you feel they are worth it.

    Thanks for any help.

Ive actually been able to get some studying in at work the past few weeks and still feel like im screwed.

That did not go well and I obviously went in there confident this time. That might of been the hardest exam I have taken out of all 5 FAR attempts. There goes the summer, not sure if I will ever pass this section.

Pursuit CPA, after your post, I rescheduled my exam from April 30 to May 5. I guess I will go with Glogo because the more I study, the more I forget and don't know how to gain the confidence.:) Very upset

    PursuitCPA,

That is a good sign that it was difficult. I'm pulling for ya.

is that true that it is a good sign when it gets hard? I felt pretty prepared (relative term – i can't imagine anyone could ever be truly prepared for such a feat) and there were quite a few things that I just plum had no idea – things i had never seen in the prep questions.

Also, are there ever times there are questions on there with no correct answers? b/c I swear there was one of those too!

    kewinnett,

Yes, I've seen people post on here about questions without a correct choice. I had one too. Maybe the AICPA doesn't proofread enough or they are just there to mess with our minds.

kewinnett – 20% questions is experimental….I THINK WE HAD THE SAME TEST.

I see what your saying everyone one, but if I didnt answer the hard questions correctly I dont see how I could pass.

    Pursuit,

even if you didn't answer a lot of the “hard” questions the once you answered correctly will carry more points and less questions will be graded on your later testlets. If someone has easy questions on last testlet each question carries less points and they have to answer almost all of them in order to have a chance to pass. They still have all the points necessary to pass but spread out over much more questions so they still have the chance to pass. In your case, you performed well in your first and second testlet, so you were missing few points to complete your 70 points for the first 3 testlets and they gave you hard questions but less of them will be graded. So you are still in good shape. You know what I mean?

We all believe in you: if you can score 74, you can score 75, no doubt about it!!!

    Thanks for your faith.

I meant I only got slammed terribly in the 2nd testlet. I could definitely tell a difference, unlike the last time. Also read Jeff's book that was helpful.

I'm back to BEC next week.
