Hi guys, I took BEC exam in December without studying because I wanted to get an extra chance to take the exam before April, 2017. Unfortunately, I passed (80s).
That December surprise made me overconfident, then I scheduled all 3 remaining parts in one test window. I took FAR 2 weeks ago with only studying ch8 & ch9. When I walked out of exam room, I knew I’m doomed. I left 4 simulations totally blank since I only left 25 mins for simulations. My 2nd testlet was a BEAST, and it took me long time to finish. About 80% of questions on it were computation questions.
    1. I’m still waiting for the exam score. Is there still a chance for me to pass that exam with 4 blank simulations?
    2. Also, my AUD exam is on next Monday (80 hours from now).I haven’t studied anything for AUD yet due to my severe procrastination. Which chapter should I focus on now?

Do you really need to make a post asking whether or not you should study for the CPA exam? What do you think?

@CPA2BEE because people always want to find the opportunity to brag even if they try to be modest about it.

I don't think it really matters if it's someone's first or last exam. Telling people you didn't study and passed doesn't really contribute to any meaningful discussion on here.

Can't tell if this is a troll post or not…. If you really passed without studying, congratz. That test is definitely not easy considering cost accounting is in it.

@Chrislo007 ,agree with you that I can't recommend anybody not to study .In stat something called chance and then statistically significant ,it seems this was chance.

Agreed. I almost think it's better to fail when you didn't try then to pass when you get lucky because you start to build a false sense of confidence and then start failing over and over and possibly lose credit. Instead of if you had failed the first time because you didn't try and then learn how to study and not have to go through failing and risk losing your credit.

But if he ends up passing without studying good for that person. I don't even wish for Donald Trump to have to go through studying for these exams. I hate it haha

I don't believe for a second you passed BEC Without studying. I think this is what forums used to call a “vanity” post for your own enjoyment. If you really passed BEC without studying, you'll need very little to pass the other exams, so your life is blessed. The rest of us, worked ourselves to the bone to earn passing scores. If you're really that smart, you should be doing something greater than accounting.

Being that cost accounting is focus on one subject, I do believe one can possibly pass without study if you've taken a few courses in college. Economic and IT were your basic 101 questions in college.

However since FAR cover various topics. One wouldn't be able to pass without having done Government and for those of us who have been working will agree we don't use most of what is cover in FAR.

As mentioned, please do share your FAR score tomorrow. I'm curious to see how you did.

see I didn't read it as braggy, I read it as saying he got VERY lucky and knows it (thus the unfortunately comment because he doesn't want to get cocky and underestimate the last 3) and asking (as hundreds of people do every year without fanfare) if you had less than 3 days to study for audit because you're a procrastinator where would you spend your time?

Too late for my advice but I would have said get the ninja notes and pull all nighters for a few days. You've been fortunate to skate by on what you already know but the exams are so diverse it just may catch up with you

People who have years of Audit and Tax experience still manage to fail AUD and REG. You can have all the experience in the world/take all the classes that relate to the exams, and it's not going to necessarily prepare you for how the exam words the questions. It's obviously possible to pass without studying but it's not common at all. Or else why would review courses for the CPA exam be so popular, and Becker be able to charge $3k to the unfortunate people that have to spend the money to buy it?

So there are people that have tax and aud experience that have fail BUT I am sure there are people that have those experience that have passed. If it's agreed upon that it is possible to pass without studying, why is their even an argument? Are we saying the Opt could possibly not be one of those exceptions?

The point is that you should study hard even if you see stories of people who didn't study or barely studied, and passed. I think that's pretty obvious. I'm not arguing with you over if it's possible to pass without studying or not. Does it look like I'm disagreeing with you on that point?

I'm not sure what your deal is but first you accuse the opt of merely trying to brag and then proceed with stating your point is to encourage people to study regardless. The opt never advised anyone to not study. No punt intended, but you're all over the place and i'm not quite sure what your point is.

I'm sure you're a really nice guy and perhaps you're just really stressed out but you're being very judgemental. Try to remember the opt is a real life person and not just a name. Stop trying to decipher everyone's “real” purpose according to your interpretation. Give people the benefit of the doubt and you'll feel a thousand times lighter.
