Has Anyone Thought FAR was easy after using Becker?

I took FAR last week after completing 100% of Beckers program. I was consistently scoring 75+ on the pass master questions and the same on the 2 final exams. The actual exam, however, seemed too easy. The only thing I can think of is that I was getting “moderate” testlets, but that would mean I wasn’t performing well. On each test let there were 3-5 MCQ I was unsure of, but certainly only missing 4 would result in getting difficult questions on testlet 2 and 3. The sims were difficult but I feel as if I did well enough on them for it not to be an issue. Has anyone else experienced this? Did you end up passing or failing?

Becker helped with all 3 of the sections I have taken so far including FAR. I have passed all 3 parts (1 more to go)

Bdodson3, this is exactly how I felt. I took FAR on July 9th. The real MCQs felt way too easy compared to Becker and my testlets never got “hard”. I only flagged 3 on first testlet and five on last one. I walked out in tears thinking I must have completely botched it….

I got an 82 on yesterday's score release.

    FAR: 82 (Becker) 07/09/2014
    AUD: 80 (Becker) 10/01/2014
    BEC: 76 (Becker) 11/26/2014
    REG: 82 (Becker) 02/16/2015

I didn't use Becker, but FAR seemed very manageable compared to what I was expecting, especially the MCQs. I felt great about the MCQs and not as great about the sims. I got an 83.

    AUD 84 (1/9/14-Wiley books/TB + free materials)
FAR 83 (5/21/14-the above + NINJA 10 Pt Combo Lite)
    REG 84 (7/9/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC/Notes)
    BEC 76 (10/5/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC)

I wouldn't say anything really makes FAR ‘easy' but it was more than manageable using Becker. The test was really hard even though I prepared extremely well and I thought I failed, but passed with an 86.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll just have to wait until the 22nd to find out.

FAR has been the only really stressful one so far, actually. With AUD and BEC I don't think I got flustered much, but when the second testlet popped up for FAR I realized I was in for a fun time. It got even more fun when I brought up the third testlet and they asked super obscure one-liners about stuff that I don't think Becker ever talked about.

Everyone says Becker's questions are easier but I personally found them pretty comparable. For the other sections, yeah, I thought the exam was much more simplistic.

    FAR: May 1st, 2014 - 91

    REG: August 29th, 2014 - 88

That's another thing I wondered. The difficulty of a question is supposed to be based on others performance on the question when it was in the development stage. So, in that case, specific factual questions could be considered difficult because a candidate will either know it or they won't. Also I wonder if governmental/NFP are considered more difficult due to the fact that many candidates had little or no education on these areas while in college. I spent 48 of the 72 hours before the test doing nothing but governmental/NFP bc it was my weakest area.

Bdodson3, good questions, I would like to find out as well.

For some reason, I currently have a NINJA trending score of 100% for NFP (as well as average – I got all of them right). I have no experience what so ever from NFP accounting, but I suppose I find the concepts rather easy, and there are not that many math type questions (which is normally my weak area for FAR, I have noticed).

I thought I was bombing FAR cause my mc was a joke and the sims were straightforward. Finished the exam in 2.5 hours. Becker prepares you for the worst and it always ended up being easier.

I wouldn't sweat it. I had the same exact experience with FAR: All three testlets seemed to be of “moderate” difficulty, and I didn't receive any of the typical convoluted, calculation-intensive problems found in Becker. I thought the AICPA was playing some kind of joke on me, or I was doing terrible and didn't realize it. Ended up with a 95.

    FAR - 95
    AUD - 98
    REG - 92
    BEC - 10/4/14

I thought the MCQ were easier ( much less calculations than in Becker). SIMS I feel like will all depend on the topics you get, could go either way.

Same here. I recall only one or two problems that required multiplication or division!

    FAR - 95
    AUD - 98
    REG - 92
    BEC - 10/4/14

I agree, the actual FAR exam seemed quite a bit easier than Becker. I was pleasantly surprised.

    FAR - 93 (YAY!!!!)
    REG - 93 (Double YAY!)
    BEC - 87 (Whew!)
    AUD - 96 (DONE!!!!!)
