ParticipantI wasn't doing J/E's for balance sheet adjustments. I literally had to put a debit or credit into the adjustment column based on if it should increase or decrease…

ParticipantTook FAR yesterday morning…my god what a beast of an exam.
First Testlet – wasn't too bad, I thought to myself that I could handle this. Marked 4-5
Second Testlet – I got to the second testlet and every question was about two paragraphs long and took sooooooo much time to do. Took me about an hour to complete and marked about 15. I'm guessing it was a hard testlet lol
Third Testlet – Pretty much the same as the second testlet marked about 12. Felt kind of rushed because I knew the FAR Sims were historically the hardest Sims.
Sims – Actually weren't too terrible. Not sure if I got the research but I spent a good thirty minutes on it and couldn't find a better answer. One sim I know I got 100% correct, 3 Sims I got about 70-80% correct, and the other two I felt about 50% correct(I'm pretty sure one of these was pre-test because I've never seen anything like it). Finished the exam with 3 minutes on the clock.
I have no idea what I'll get but If I had to guess it's probably in the 70s again…

ParticipantTook FAR yesterday.
First testlet was easy, marked 4. The second one was nearly impossible….marked about half of the questions. The last testlet was a lot like the first, only marked a couple. (Guess I did bad on the second) The Sims were not nearly as hard as I expected. The very first sim and the research took me a combined 2 minutes. One sim was absolutely out of left field, but I was able to find the AL on the topic pretty easily. Good luck to everyone else!

ParticipantI took my exam yesterday as well.
Thought the first testlet was easy mode. However, the second testlet was insane difficult and same for the third.
The SIMS weren't bad as well, I think we all had the same sims because the research was super easy lol. I'm gonna say I should of studied F10 a little more.

Participant@Andrew @Christopher @waffle_house from your comments it seems you all passed, somewhere in the high 70's to mid 80's. I felt like this exactly on AUD and ended up killing the SIMS and scored an 81. I take FAR on 3/10 and my god the study material is brutal. 1/3 if the way through NINJA MCQ first time thru and learning and just doing NINJA audio, NINJA PLUS videos and NINJA notes. Not sure if your FAR exam yesterday was retake but I am curious to see what you did differently to increase your score from 1st to 2nd time if that was the case. I do not want to wait till Aug to find out I am done I want to finish this marathon on 3/10 and find out the 21st of March that I am a CPA. Please any advice helps to crush FAR the first time taking

ParticipantTook the exam last December and every question in the second and third testlet was about 2 paragraphs long. I literally spent the majority of my time reading questions and spent about a few seconds actually trying to figure out the answer….horrible… just took too long to work through these types of questions and ran out of time on the last sim…does the authoritative lit ever help on any of the sims aside from the research question

Participant@waffle_house with NINJA audio and NOTES I am able to start speaking some of the material to myself and make sense of it. Sounds like everyone is crushing 1st testlet struggling a bit on 3nd and either getting a medium or hard AF 3rd. As much as people emphasize doing 1 million MCQ's (and I understand that it helps you learn the material) but it ultimately comes down to the SIMS. I truly believe they will make or break your score.

Participant@SiXiam any luck?
Congrats to all that passed. Taking the monster 3/10 and crossing fingers I can walk out of the Prometric center for the final time. Looks like a lot of passes this score release, which hopefully is a good sign. I definitely think it's going to come down to time management and the SIMS for me. Hoping to leave myself 2 hours exactly for SIMS in case I get into trouble with 1 or two.

ParticipantHi,
I took FAR on 23rd Feb., 2017 and definitely sure that I failed it. First teslet was hard and second and third teslet got harder. I was left with 1 hr and 10 minutes for the sims and the sims were just impossible. I am so frustrated!
I have a question, my NTS says I can take FAR till Nov., 2017. So, do I need to apply to CBA again or just take an appointment and reschedule with the same NTS??
February 25, 2017 at 4:50 pm #1498401SomeSomeCPA
ParticipantShormila, after your score is release you will need to reapply for a new NTS. The NTS code you are given is only good for one test. Any retakes require a new NTS ‘launch code'.
FAR: 39,59,TBD
BEC: 74,79
AUD: 77
REG: SeptemberFebruary 25, 2017 at 5:12 pm #1498416Cruzer
Participant@Shormila Arefeen Usually if teslets get harder it means you are scoring well on previous testlets or are you just thinking the testlets were hard for you either way? FAR seems like the one exam where you have to leave 2 hours for SIMS which I don't have a clue how is doable if the MCQ's are tough and take up so much time.

Participantokay guys….. Just took FAR today and need your thoughts. So I have been studying for a little over two months now and honestly just felt like there was way to much material and that I would never be ready. Get in there today and feel pretty confident about the first testlet. Dive straight into the next testlet and the questions aren't getting any harder! I kid you not… I had not one but TWO… I repeat TWO questions that were the EXACT same in testlet 2 and showed up again in testlet 3. I didn't really feel like any of my questions were hard and they were all relatively short in text. Now I by no means feel that I was 100% prepared and ready to kill this exam so now I just don't know what to think. I feel like I must have done really bad and made a bunch of mistakes I didn't even notice for the questions to be repeating and not getting any more difficult. Any one else have similar a experience? This was my last exam to finish and I was really hoping to be done before this next format rolls out!! UGH… until March 8th you can find my drinking my feelings away.

Participant@Micalda1 Reading through the FAR experience posts, it seems we had a very similar experience based on what you wrote and my exam score for BEC was the exact same as yours. My exam was very odd, couldn’t tell if I knew the material super well or if the testlets were really that hard. There was a ton of NFP and IFRS and they didn’t seem to complex since I hit these sections hard before the exam. The SIMS though were on another level, one was so long I knew to leave it for last. There was another one that I am pretty sure was the pretest one because it was touched so lightly in the study material not sure who would have got it right. I feel not that confident with score release a week away but this is my last exam and I am praying the CPA gods do not have to make me wait till August to find out I am done.
