Lol Wannafree, how in the hell did you come up with a 77 based on his explanations? I'm curious as to the logic on this, maybe you can predict all of our scores.
@Bourne , you describe your exp and I would predict for you too but u have to be honest. 3 successful ,and 6 failed attempts made me moderate astrologer LOL
Wow, friendly and helpful staff at your Prometric? Mine were like robots and not sophisticated ones. The guy I had to check in/out with every time made me ask him what time it was every time he told me to sign in/out. There was a clock but you couldn't see it from this guy's desk cause it was on a big angle in the corner of the room. They also acted like I'm supposed to already know all the rules about everything instead of being helpful. They didn't tell me about the noise cancelling headphones, etc. It wasn't a big issue but I was not impressed with Prometric staff when I took my test. If there was another nearby testing center I'd probably switch for the next one.
@Tim, I think there is a survey…I would complete it or make a report to prometric. The staff don't have to be annoying but some point of accommodation they are supposed to provide. Good luck.
It begins with a 75
Been here too long as a cheerleader....ready to pass
Overall, FAR was not as bad as I was expecting. I was honestly expecting to get totally destroyed. I finished all the multiple choice within an hour; there were one or two where I totally had to take a guess. I'm sure I made some dumb mistakes along the way, but I went back and checked for those tricky mid-year questions because I always miss those due to reading too fast. The second testlet seemed to test more difficult topics than the first so that's good news. As far as SIMS go, I felt there were in line with Becker as far as the amount of material to sift through and difficulty, and they definitely followed the blueprint released by the AICPA. I did feel slightly unprepared for one of the SIMS, but I was able to make sense of most of it and muster my way through so hopefully that was a pre-test. I finished with 30 minutes left on the clock. Overall, I feel good enough to get a 75 but definitely not getting my hopes up since I've never done this before…
@Katie-did you do any of the Mock Exams in Becker and how did those compare to the real thing if so? (in difficulty) I did really well in both sets of SIMS in Becker but don't want to be too optimistic….
I got a 70 (58 on MCQs and 79 on SIMS) on my first mock exam with no review and an 83 (68 on MCQs and 89 on SIMS) on my second after one week of review. I was stronger on the SIMS than the MCQs on both of my mock exams. As far as difficulty, I thought the actual exam was comparable to the mock exams, if not easier. But they were all on topics I felt comfortable with the exception of one. If you practice the Becker SIMS that Ana listed on the “Potential FAR SIMS Straight from the ACIPA,” you should be more than prepared, in my experience.
@Katie Glad to hear you did well! I'm sure you did well based on reading your experience. I remember your encouraging comment on one of my posts. I am taking my time on the Final Becker Review, spending about 2 weeks to finish the whole Final Review then moving on to Ninja MCQs. Can you share what you did on your reviewing stage? and how much time you spent? Did you re-read the whole Becker book at all? I tried reading the book again but I stopped after F3 because it was just too much information.
