All of the work for my Master’s degree is complete – I walk at graduation on Saturday. I have 3 letters after my name, MTX. Next 3, CPA!!! While taking the Becker class at my university, I felt like I was rushing through the material just to get it done for the grade – I didn’t really buckle down & study it they way I need to in order to pass this danged exam. Starting tomorrow, I’m a CPA Exam NINJA! I have the NINJA notes, my Becker materials, and a brand-new 3″ 3-ring binder with college ruled and graph paper, and 4 new pens – 2 blue, 2 black.

I plan to start with FAR, my beast. I will take it in the first week of July (assuming there’s an opening). That will give me almost 2 full months to study. Then I’ll tackle Audit for August, and BEC/REG – one in October, the other in November. Not sure about the order yet on those last 2. I am hoping & praying that I can pass this thing on the first try. I know that’s aiming high but hey, a girl can dream. lol…

That’s my plan, who’s with me?

I also just decided today that I am gonna burn my pocket even more and buy the Ninja Audios. I need to be reinforced during work and also I plan on sticking the damn thing on every night to go to sleep to. Maybe my brain can remember something while I'm sleeping… It's worth a shot. I need every bit of learning style possible to try and grasp some of this stuff.

I would LOVE to get NINJA audio but I think my hubby would protest after spending all that $ on the Becker materials, plus buying the NINJA notes. 😛

Is anyone following the Ninja Framework? If so, what step are you on. I am about to finish the lectures and I don't know if 4 weeks is enough to do Mcqs and rewrite my notes. Any advice? Should I reschedule? My exam date is July 2nd. Any suggestion would help.

@JazKas04 – you are a busy mom, and I really admire you. For dinner, (assuming that you don't have one) buy a George Foreman……..you can do fish fillets, boneless chicken, hamburger, quesadillas, etc in less than 10 minutes.

@Nicolec22 – I think 2 weeks is enough, if you are feeling good with the material. If you are a full-time student, go for it. If you have a full-time job and have other responsibilities……..I will say evaluate your understaing of the material, moving the exam a week might help.

I am in, I have started my REG's retake study plan. I hope to be done with Tax lectures by tomorrow and will work related MCQ's over the weekend, then will move forward with B-Law and the MCQ's. I just paid NASBA for the retake, now waiting on the NTS. I really hope for an open space on the testing center either the July 1st or 2nd.

    Good Luck All!!!

@Jaz — I really admire you and your spirit and what you are going through. If I may — I'd like to share a little bit of something that helped me, and it may help you too. I'm a mother of 4 children ages 11 down to 3. We did baseball, piano, Tae Kwon Do, soccer, pre-tball…all of it. Every night we were running around either right after school, or during dinnertime, or we'd be wolfing down dinner in order to get to fill-in-the-blank practice.

Earlier this year, we said enough and started limited all of that stuff down to extreme bare bones (right now, nobody is involved in anything). I can't tell you how much of a difference that made in our daily home life, it was amazing and the stress level dropped WAY down. I heard somebody say once that if your kids will be Olympians or a Classical Pianist — they'll let you know.

So far in our little experiment, the kids have been fine. No massive damage has been done by pulling them out of all that stuff. And, even, right now, I don't know if we'll go back to it even after I'm done with the CPA Exam, I'm kind of enjoying stress free evenings.

Best of luck to all of you on FAR!!

    FAR -- 90
    AUD -- 95
    BEC -- 82
    REG -- 92

    DONE!

I am FINALLY getting my commission check from H&R Block this weekend – then I can order the remaining transcripts I need to have sent in to the state & schedule the exams. I'm still hoping for FAR in early July but if it gets bumped, no biggie. My husband has been pushing hard for a Disney trip in July. I keep using the CPA exam as an excuse not to go (plus we went last July and it was SO hot & humid)! He's threatening to take my daughter by himself & leave me home to study. lol…

My study habits have really gone down the drain over the last couple of weeks. I need to get motivated & get serious.

Nicole, I'm still in the note-taking stage using Becker combined with Ninja.

@Marivy22. – well I'm taking my last elective for my MBA program and I just have 3 weeks left. I am currently not working but I do have a 15 month old running around the house. We will also be moving this weekend and I'm pretty sure it's going to be crazy. I been waking up at 5 am to study until 8:30 for about a week and a half now. I'm using Rogers Review and taking notes on my own but checking back on the NINJA study guide to make sure I got things covered. I just finished Govt. accounting and it's a new topic for me so I'm not too comfortable with that material. Writing notes has definitely helped. I have taken AUD 61, REG 60, and BEC 54 and did not pass. So I decided to start fresh using Roger and the Ninja framework. Becker was just not my learning style. I think an extra week would definitely help. Since its my first time actually following the Ninja Framework, I just want to make sure that I am not taking too much time in watching the lectures and taking notes. I want to have time to work thru the MCQs at least 2 times.

Well I will be officially be joining this group, I was going to take FAR the end of May but I was not scoring as well as I would like to be so I pushed it back and I am looking at the beginning of July. I just so hate this section I tell you, there is just so much to learn!

@kmwgrace – I am trying your chicken crock pot dinner you listed above for dinner tonight…it will be nice to not have to actually cook a meal tonight, gotta love the crock pot. 🙂

I'm part of this group as well. Taking FAR on July 17 and started studying May 21. Been averaging around ~40hours a week over the last two weeks so I'm just about to start F7 in Becker this upcoming week. My plan is to leave myself 3.5/4 weeks of nothing but review/multiple choice and also incorporate my NINJA notes at that time. Question for the Becker users, how are you guys doing on the homeworks? Even when I know a topic fairly well, I rarely get above mid 80s and average in the 70s. Is that normal the first time? I think I'm not used to the way they word the question which throws me off (good thing I'll have plenty of time to adjust to that!)

    FAR - 92
    AUD - 87
    REG - 91
    BEC - 86

I am going to be studying for FAR too!! My exam retake is scheduled for July 11th. I think I have plenty of time to prepare for it and I just need to stay on schedule! I am going to start studying tomorrow. I definitely found a better way to study for myself, so I should be ready to go in July!

KMWgrace… I think were going through the same problems! My studying you might as well call has been non existent! I am so mad at myself. Everyday it just didn't happen then there's the craploads of kids bday parties and softball games. I don't know what to do with myself. And what makes it even worse is that with all that non studying, i still haven't folded all the clothes that are on my couch and in a basket in my room nor cleaned the house or anything. Just poof wasted the time! I promised myself I would jump back in full speed today and set my alarm for 5 am because that is the only chance I have at peaceful studying for 2 hours and guess what.. I slept through it so now tonight I refuse to go to bed until I've done 4 hours of video lecture. All I've watched so far was basic concepts, financial statements, and inventory. Not a happy camper right now. I gotta do double time if I'm gonna take this test in mid July with the trip to Disney in 3 weeks which I still haven't booked a hotel :-/

Jaz I can SO relate. ugh. I just can't seem to get on track with the studying!

If you need help booking your hotel or any part of your Disney trip, Hubby and I run a web-based travel agency and we can book Disney. Pop me an email if you're interested – kmwgrace@gmail.com, or check out our website http://www.thecruisedoctor.com. I think I've mostly managed to talk him out of a Disney trip for us but I won't know for sure until July has come & gone. lol. (I would pm you if the site had that functionality! I hope it's kosher to post my business website in this context…)
