Just purchased ninja notes yesterday and I started following Jeff’s method for re-take.

Wrote about 40 pages of notes and planning to finish writing notes by the tonight!

The material does stick better as I re-write. When I just read my mind tends to wonder. ADD anyone? Lol. Jeff is right just re-write notes instead of reading. If not read out loud that works for me as well.

Planning to hit MC’s starting tomorrow. Not much time left till and I need to raise my score from 54 to 75!! My test showed weak in ALL areas!! 🙁

Who else is taking AUD in beg of oct??

What else should I be doing? Can’t effort to fail and again.

@Shay…I agree with Alpa you might want to take good notes from A3,A4 and A5…also practice the simulations. I took AUD for second time on Aug 27 and I didn't practice the SIM because I noticed that they weren't that difficult when I took it in May the first time. Well this second time they were difficult and I was running out of time which was strange because the first time I had plenty but maybe that's why I got a 71. I am taking notes this time and working more SIM and MCQ…and definitelly spending more time studying. For my thumb I got a pencil with an great comfortable grip, and when I get tired I switch to MCQ or SIM on the computer and then o back to taking notes.

    Good luck!!!!

@Alpha….My understanding is up A3…Issuers are publicly traded companies that are required to file with SECOND and follow whatever requirements are set by SECOND… Such as Registration Statement to be filed with SECOND. PCAOB (PCOAB) also appiles to issuers

Non-issuers are privately-held companies. Less or none requirements are set by SEC.. I am writing this w/o becker book front of me using BB.

HI Jeff, What is the Ninja method? I looked at all the tabs in this forum and I have not seen it. Do I need to buy your review materials to know the technique? Thanks.

I am going to add to Shay's response about the differences about a Public company (issuer) vs non Public (non issuer)

Public: Must register with the PCAOB, and S.E.C (Security and Exchange Commission) provides guidance to the publicly traded companies. (issuers). If you are using Becker 2011 there is a good summary chart on page A2-59 and 62. I work for a publicly traded company (issuer) and I also worked for Privately held company (non issuer). What might help is to know that publicly traded companies (issuer) provide financial information to the public (stocks price, investment, etc) and they are owned by shareholders.

LOL @ shay! thank you for the explanation. i was about to google SECOND, since its nowhere in my books. then i thought it may be a mnemonic.

@ sonya thanks for clerifying. i'll really have to go thru those charts this time.

@ cheska. jeff explains the method in this video.

How to Study for the CPA Exam

also if you get one of the free ninja notes it explains in 1st few pages the NINJA method.

@ alpa – thank you for sharing the video link. Makes sense to me! I definitely will start writing my notes especially there's a lot to memorize in AUD. Good luck to your exam!
