Just purchased ninja notes yesterday and I started following Jeff’s method for re-take.

Wrote about 40 pages of notes and planning to finish writing notes by the tonight!

The material does stick better as I re-write. When I just read my mind tends to wonder. ADD anyone? Lol. Jeff is right just re-write notes instead of reading. If not read out loud that works for me as well.

Planning to hit MC’s starting tomorrow. Not much time left till and I need to raise my score from 54 to 75!! My test showed weak in ALL areas!! 🙁

Who else is taking AUD in beg of oct??

What else should I be doing? Can’t effort to fail and again.

I'm looking to schedule an appointment to re-take the first week of October as well, hopefully October 1st. I'm finishing A1 today and I've been getting 95%-100% on the MCQ homework even after a month of taking it so it's been easier. I also purchased the NINJA notes & will begin re-writing today. I'm right there with you!

    FAR 4/9/12- PASSED
    BEC 7/13/12- PASSED
    AUD 8/16/12- Ughhh 71, Rematch: 90!!!
    REG-12/6/12 PASSED

    USC MAcc- Fight on!

I am scheduled to take AUD on 10/3 so I'm there with all of you. I was looking to buy the NINJA notes too and was looking to see what you guys think. I did not use them for FAR and REG but I felt like I was better suited for those exams because that is more of what I do at work and thankfully was able to pass without using anything other than Becker. Now I feel like I need something extra because AUD just seems so much more memorization and not as much calculation (my strength). So should I go for the notes?? Suggestions are welcome. Thanks!

    FAR - 81
    REG - 75
    AUD - 85
    BEC - 79

Thank goodness it's over... Now on to the next step...

I am all for Jeff's NINJA notes, I even purchased them for BEC. However, it's my personal opinion that it's much more effective to write your OWN notes over and over than someone else's. You know what I'm saying? Paraphrase the NINJA notes into your own, so you can be sure you're actually understanding the material instead of just rewriting for the sake of rewriting. I think the NINJA notes are an awesome and succinct way to study the material, I just think it's best for study purposes to rewrite them differently to see how well you're actually retaining the info. This has always been my approach in Becker, and I think it really helps on exam day. JMHO.

    BEC: (4/2012) 88
    AUD: (5/2012) 91
    REG: (8/2012) 82
    FAR: (1/2013) 78 🙂

@cpa. I'm using Becker too. And it was enough for FAR but for AUD I needed additional material. I have never worked as an accountant and my qualification for CPA exam are more then 15 yrs old. Aud is like Chinese to me. Lol! I'm using Becker review, Wiley audio and now ninja notes.

Ninja notes are to the point without all the detailed explanations. They'll be great to read up right b4 the exam as well.

I think I'll take keely's advise and reword the notes. It'll stick better.

CPA exam is a challenge no matter what. If aud is Chinese then how would u describe BEC? I'm better with #'s. all this analytical thinking is tough for me!!

I need advice!!! I took AUD in May and failed with a 71, I took it again on Aug 27 and got a 70 (I didn't study very hard) should I study harder for a month an retake it the first week of Oct.? Or should I study for another part and retake AUD next year?

I think I should retake AUD in October instead of studying for a brand new one?

Half BEC is #s. Concepts are in IT and ECON. I liked BEC over AUD. I could review them in my head. Seriously I don't even remember title of the ch 1 or ch 2…

Analytical, compilation terms is driving me nuts. Review or not to review, etc etc

Just did 40 MCQs in A2. They seemed medium-easy level though. But I don't get concepts. To me its all memorizing word by word.

@Sonafm. You said u didn't study hard, and got 70. U just need 5 points to pass. So study hard using same material. It will be good review.

So what is the trick for rewriting the notes without the pain I have in my thumb and pointer finger from holding the penShay thank you for your encourgament. I decided to study harder AUD and I am re writing the notes but my fingers are not happy…

@sonya I feel your pain! Omg all that writing! But it's worth it.

I completed A1 and still averaging 76 on 1st try. Started A2 and had to go back to watching the video's. It helped tremendously with “other reports” section. If you don't highlight and take notes and just follow it's pretty helpful.

    50 of 93 MC's b4 I sleep tonight.

How far have you guys gotten??

I'm on A3 right now, just finished all the MC (300 of them in A3) not to mention doing all the ones I got wrong over again and I'm about to do the sims for A3. Didn't do great on the MC but I know I will get it all down by the time it's time to sit for the exam (at least I hope I do)…

I finished A2 today. Now at A3.2 doing Passmaster. I actually like highlighting. I am actually taking notes from Passmaster than book. Has anyone tried this method before. My thumb really hurts.

I'm hopeful to catch up with CPA hopeful!!

Completed A2 and will complete A3 by Sunday. I averaged 85% on A2. Let's what what A3 brings.

@shay it wouldn't be a bad idea to take separate notes from pass master. I'm sure it'll help specially with A3/A4/A5.

My thumb hurts from re-writing ninja notes!!!
