Isn’t it a general norm that emails written entirely in CAPLOCK’S is considered to be shouting/yelling at the person receiving the email ?

Well I haven't had to interact much with her but at times the feeling of “being too lazy” has crossed my mind.
Normally I avoid confrontation as much as possible. The only person I had to put on their place was an Admin that was rude to everyone. Including their boss. After they put me in the spot I did an email and cc their boss as well and put my foot down. Simple terms I was not their door matt.
But that was just because my boss told me to send that email copy him and also cc the other parties boss too.
I think Shan – if your work is good it just speaks for it self. So if there ever was a situation where someone behaved bad your track record will speak for itself.
My Supervisor was cc on the email so he saw it first hand. Sent me a private msg saying “noted”

October 10, 2013 at 9:25 pm #458509AnonymousInactive@acamp I can hear you shouting isn't it amazing the power of the mind how immediately I could hear you.
@insiyah24, really they said that, wow, oh wow (I hope they are not in seniority) because I thought etiquette was general unspoken rule in business or life. But then I must have missed that memo.
@Shan if your coworkers are regular people not sociopaths, a quiet word will do, draw the line stand firm (set them straight with a fake smile if they are that stupid not to get the point). Perception is really important. Its like immediately you know based on how people respond when you have crossed the line.
If that doesn't work, try a couple of things just to be certain you are dealing with a regular person (not an angry let the world burn type of person, sociopath, bully etc.) and sensitivity has nothing do with. Put yourself in their shoes, if you don't like it the chances are they don't like it too. If something is continuously bothering you address it.

October 10, 2013 at 9:36 pm #458511AnonymousInactive@Ntw6817, really neat what a joke. DOES THIS LOOK NEAT OR distracting? People look at you funny when you print out a couple of copies of how to behave in the office environment or in public. 1. Don't fart in public or in front of company 2. Don't decide to adjust your bra straps or adjust your pants, scratch balls in public, pick your noise and shake my hand yuck etc. (you get the point). I am going to throw up…
In simple English if your parents or family said NO don't do this in public it means don't do it public.
Yep I am not progressive that way.

October 10, 2013 at 11:22 pm #458513AnonymousInactiveMy old boss would sometimes send emails in all caps. Just because it was on and he wouldn't bother to change it.
That being said, for accounting work (ledgers etc), I have no problem with all caps. Many of our spreadsheets are in all caps, and that's perfectly OK with me. I don't work directly with the ledger at my current job, but at my former job we did a lot of bookkeeping for clients and all of our entries for that were in all caps (so the check was to “WALMART” rather than to “Walmart”). For stuff like that, it can be simpler and easier in all caps.
However, for anything really written (like full sentences), I definitely do upper and lower case. Emails, letters, IMs, notes on spreadsheets, etc.

That is the funny part–My big boss do think my job is great but this person still went to complain about my work. The big boss even joked about it but unfortunately, the big boss didn't directly stop the ridiculous behavior which I didn't quite understand why though. Since this person is slight above me, I was feeling very frustrated and worried this person gonna do something worse… But on the other hand, I feel that I was backed up by the big boss “secretly”…uhg…so weird~~
But thank you so much for the advice! I feel a little better when I read your words…I now should rethink peacefully and make sure this person is “regular” and what I should do to improve my situation.

How would a co-worker know what your inflections are, are you mad at them? Are you trying to get a point across? Are you just being lazy, and if so, it's rude to the receiver who is trying to figure out the intention behind the email. It's wasting someones time!
