Isn’t it a general norm that emails written entirely in CAPLOCK’S is considered to be shouting/yelling at the person receiving the email ?

A couple of years ago, when my Mum got her first computer and she wanted to send me an email, she called me and said: This freakin Computer is broken, I only can write in capital letters!”.

I was out with friends and I couldn't stop laughing!!

She didn't know how to switch from caps to normal letters.

It was sooooo funny!!!

Maybe the same happened to you boss???? HAHAHAHAAAA

@Eliabraham–I strongly agree with you. I didn't see people get fired by that but do get miserable sometimes. But I do have a question–If your coworkers deal with you very childish and unprofessional, what should you do?? How to release your feeling??

But no – they know how to turn off their caplocks since the reply back “Because it was ON” was not in Caplocks.

Secondly for the past 3 yrs – all the “Other” emails I have received where not in caplocks.

Lastly – not my boss – this is my peer – we are the same level.

Sounds like your peer is being a jerk. Caps lock, in the professional world (and non-professional, but you get more of a leeway), is completely inappropriate. It's either because they're much older (a partner, for example, who doesn't realize the connotations) or they're being rude. His response to you confirmed that.

Someone at my firm does everything in capital letters. Not sending out emails but all their work papers and stuff are in caps. She says because it looks neater.

We had a partner who could not figure out the audit software to sign-off on workpapers. So he'd have an associate sit down with him to sign off on the workpapers for him (right-click, sign off). I could imagine HIM emailing someone in caps lock, haha.
