    @TheRealMehulPatel – I Agree, many of my peers that make over $150K, and are not accountants, have worked in another industry and went back for a business degree and/or MBA. They are prized in their field and work for larger corporations. However, if you are starting with an accounting degree then Big 4 is a logical step to larger paying jobs. I know many of my Big 4 counter parts who do nothing with accounting any more (they are in Sales, Finance, Strategy, ect) but most of them started Big 4. It is just the way business is done. That is not to say there are not good jobs with out it.

    My main point is if you have a destination in your career and aspirations of making it into leadership, then make sure your early choices make sense and are logical steps to get there. Don't discount it because it is hard and all that other stuff. Every career that has many people that make money (lawyer, doctor, finance) has a hard driven fast paced path that you can chose and will boost your career early.

    It is funny to me how all the people that found a job after they put their time in a BIG4 bash the BIG4 jobs after they leave. Chances are that you are where you are because you worked in a BIG4. That is not to say that there aren't different ways of getting those jobs. I work in Miami, do not speak Spanish, and before the BIG4 job I had a hard time finding a job that would pay more than $15/hr. I get recruiters email me all the time now (I have a Linkedin account) – that did not happen before I listed my Big4 job on my Linkedin resume.

    The chances of getting a high paid job and work less hrs increase exponentially if you leave a BIG4 as a senior. You obviously forget that!

    NYKnicksCPA – so you're saying that they release our scores online before they release them to the state boards?

    @HopeCounter – NASBA posts scores for NASBA states at the same time they release them to the state boards. States that are not NASBA (Maryland) receive the scores and post them to the websites via their own rules.

    @HopeCounter – the trend has been that the scores get released to the state boards but are then uploaded to the respective state boards online site 1 day before they send the emails or mail with the score letters. That has been the trend.

    @12YrsLtr

    I hear you champ, i was just saying that the big 4 isnt all peachy as it seems to be. The best advise on big 4 i can give anyone is that the work is EASY so as long as you can pass the cpa exams, nothing will come across as hard work there. The only hard thing are the people you work with.. bunch of professional babies in ties and suits!
