It's a nightmare if you don't have a papers to get the job in this market. The problem is there are many accountants out there who graduate from US institutions and doesn't need a working visa, that pose a challenge for employer to help anyone to get working visa.

I hope things will get better for you and get an opportunity. Goodluck.

I bet you can get a job in any of the countries mentioned above in an international company. Then in a year two end up right here in the US as expat on a way better package and benefits. There's always a way around a conundrum, because it will take ages for the immigration law to be passed. But lets say you applied for Google in Kenya and you got a job (hypothetically of course) or EY or any of the big 4/5 in an African country.

Your chances of being seconded back to the US on an 18 month contract to for a start in 2-3 years are way higher than waiting for a visa. You might end up with more countries to move to than just the US. There's Canada, Asia, Islands, Africa (some of those assignments people kill for). All expenses paid even for your pet and grandma. There different ways to skin a cat (sorry cat lovers)

A CPA in your resume is quite a valuable mark.
