It used to be about 3 months. Anyone know if that’s changed? Thanks!

The analogy to the DMV is pretty spot on actually, never thought of it that way.
At the end of the day its gov't employees up in Albany that aren't paid enough to care. I'm sure they are “doing the best they can”
You get what you pay for and all that…

    FAR-93 11/9/17 (10wks, 250 hrs, Roger 1800+ MCQs, Gleim TB 600+MCQs, SIMs)
AUD-88 12/7/17 (3 wks, 85 hrs, Roger 1000 MCQs no SIMs hail mary)
    REG-96 1/18/18 (6 wks, 110 hrs, 1400 MCQs, no SIMs)
    BEC-91 2/16/18 (4wks, 90 hrs, 1240 MCQs)

Thanks Recked for responding! I am 20 and actually do meet the education and experience requirements. I am currently still taking the exams, so was wondering in case I am done before I turn 21, if I would be able to submit an application. Seeing how long it takes to get approved, by the time they approve me I will probably hit the age anyhow.

Question: when you guys are saying that NYS has only processed ___ number of licenses this week, where are you going to get that information? I would like to check that out.

    Check out: https://www.op.nysed.gov/opsearches.htm
If you do a little searching you will find out how many they processed in a single day.
For example, so far today they have processed 7 licenses (# 127854 to 127860).
    Aug 9 – 29 (127825 to 127853)
    Aug 8 – 3 (127822 to 127824)
    Aug 3 – 34 (127788 to 127821)
    July 30 – 27 (127761 to 127787)
    July 27 – 90 (127671 to 127760)

That's all I have kept track of. It seems like some days they process a lot, and not so many on others. Also they do not process everyday and I am not even talking about weekends.

    Have fun!

My name is visible now on NYS Office of Prof look up, they said that they mailed the certificate and should be receiving in 5 days. Date of issue 8/15. Thank God, now I can put those 3 words after my name. Its my 2nd son's 7th B'Day today BTW, so double celebration…Good luck everyone

    Hi guys,

Is it worth it to sent in my licensing application early to NYSED even though I haven't finished my 150 credits education requirement? I passed all my parts already. The only thing that's stopping me from getting my license is a 3 credit accounting course, which I'm taking in the upcoming Fall 2018 semester. Anyone was in the same shoes as me?

Typo: I meant 3 letters…not WORDs after my name.

@RyanzCPA I would send the application, doesn't hurt. It might save time when you complete your education requirement.

Congratulations Eltoro! Any idea what date your information was forwarded to the board initially?

    Congrats Eltoro that's awesome!

I was fairly neurotic during the CPA exam, especially waiting for scores, so now that's done I'm sitting back a bit (I've confirmed that they received everything at least) and following up here – thanks everyone for the updates.

Kind of like when taking the test, the questions used to be “Are you done?” “How many left?” etc. now it's just endless bundles of “Are you licensed yet?”

    Hi,

@Eltoromodesto NYSED just told me it would save me about 3 weeks of processing time if I send it the application early.

    Congrats on being certified!

@Vand They told me that they forwarded the info to board on 8/1/18 and at that time they told me it will take 12 weeks but I am surprised when I called yesterday and they said my license is approved and it can be verified online. Not complaining here but I didn't expect them to process this fast. Although, I had submitted my education and everything else way before I passed my exams, so maybe that is why it was approved faster? Just keep calling them at least once a week to check and good luck.

@SBNY2K17 Agreed, the whole process is so frustrating as one time they kept telling me that I am missing this form or that form but glad its over and I wish you get your license sooner.

@Recked – I'm going to agree and disagree that they aren't paid enough to care. I get your point but at the same time
these are “adults” that are or should be cognizant of the pay rate when they sign up for the job, and if they agree to the terms of pay and work then they should perform their responsibilities with a minimum amount of effort and diligence, which doesn't seem to be the case here… But I get it, I'm sure they feel “underpaid” (which they probably aren't).

Nice! This gives me hope that mine may be coming sooner than expected. It seems like we had a similar time frame- all of my forms were submitted the third week of June and they were forwarded to the board at the beginning of July. Maybe they're actually picking up the pace!
