    Incorrect

The answer is B. Comparable sales.

“The use of comparable sales is not an income approach to valuation of a business, it is a market approach. Under the comparable sales approach, the value of a business is determined by comparing it to other entities with comparable characteristics for which the value is more readily determinable.”

    This was a tricky one

Hey! I took my BEC exam on Saturday and Oh boy! I actually thought I had this in the bag but I started to read the exam questions, I felt like I did not study enough.

It is time for me to hit the BEC practice questions again and be ready to retake in October.

Giving up is not an option!

Regarding test difficulty, question difficulty is not measured by an objective, or even a subjective measure, ie. someone's opinion or academic evaluation. They are measured by whether other test takers got them right or wrong.

So they might be an academically easy answer, but if many get it wrong, it becomes a “hard” testlet.

The entire CPA test is graded by your performance relative to others.

Would love to hear all of your methods for mastering variances, guys. Only issue I foresee on this test for me.

… and memorizing the IT nuances

Its very interesting the CPA is one of the only exams (I know someone who just took the DATs) that the score isn't given right away. Is the CPA exam curved? I don't know. I don't think anyone knows.

Ok I took BEC Friday. Had very limited review time since I was sick but I couldn't reschedule because the NTS expires this week. Overall, it wasn't bad, but I am nervous. I went to the ILBOA website and no results were in the pending .. I freaked. I call ILBOA and they said as long as I got my confirmation, I will be okay.

So moving forward, I am nervous, feel defeat so I go online to try to reapply to jump the gun, and BEC is not an option at all to do rexamination app.

Question: Does this mean, something is wrong? Is there a loophole if it isn't available I might have passed, or what?

I know I cannot take it again in the same Q section, so could that just mean that?

If I pass, Only FAR left. I have to be finish my 11/3 to not lose Auditing.

Bank reserves would be decreased by:

    A.

an increase in Federal Reserve float.

    B.

a sale of government securities by the Federal Reserve.

    C.

a loan to member banks by the Federal Reserve.

    D.

a purchase of gold by the Federal Reserve.

    FAR : 68, 74, 83 Thank you God 🙂
    BEC : 78 (8/27) 🙂
    REG : 72 ,80 (2/25) 🙂
    AUD : 69,67, 07/23

When the Fed buys govt securities from banks it gives them credit at the Fed which counts for their reserves.

Vice versa, when the Fed sells them securities, their credit and thus their reserve is reduced.

the question is very ambiguous. Is this reserve the federal reserve requirements or the reserve held at the FED like MOD has suggested.

What is the answer to the question ?

Exactly what I was thinking, question is unclear. If this relates to the commercial banks, then decreasing reserves will rather increase the money supply because the banks will not be required to hold more reserves in their vault and will be forced to lend more.

Choice A and B are identical IMO, because the feds reduces money supply by selling securities which in return increase the federal reserve. This looks like a contractionary policy so it will reduce bank reserves.

This is because the feds takes chunk of the money from the system, thus reducing the bank reserves. This question is something else!!
