    Incorrect

    The answer is B. Comparable sales.

    “The use of comparable sales is not an income approach to valuation of a business, it is a market approach. Under the comparable sales approach, the value of a business is determined by comparing it to other entities with comparable characteristics for which the value is more readily determinable.”

    This was a tricky one

    I just got back from BEC & posted in the experience thread for anyone interested. I wouldn't say cost accounting was the most heavily tested but it was definitely tested. It was a good mix of all the material, actually. It pretty much touched on everything.

    @amanda, maybe i have a chance if i don't do so lucky on the cost. My test is scheduled for August 15th. I have watched all the Becker lectures except Financial management and will do that this weekend and complete the MCQs… I plan on rewatching the lecture for cost, i really have no choice. I am that horrible with it.

    I don't really know what to do about IT, COSO, and Econ. I am doing well on Becker and Wiley for both.. but i partially think its because i've memorized answers cause I do MCQ so much like the last week I've been doing them for 5-6 hours a day and reading the reasons why.

    I'm going to focus on the other chapters for awhile. I still am a month out.

    *i've been studying for BEC for almost 2 months, I started in April, had final exams in May did MCQ for awhile after finals, didn't really do much in June because I got a new accounting internship. So here I am. This is my first CPA test, I haven't even graduated from college yet so I am very nervous it will shock my world :'(

    @CPA14

    Because if the company raises the price, and some people buy, it will be few people.

    If it lowers the price and some people buy, it will be many people. Thus a sloping line.

    Firms in perfect competition face a horizontal price curve: they cannot raise the price, because no one will buy.

    And if they lower the price they will not sell more (they sell everything they make a the market price already).

    Hey all. I used to post in the FAR forum in the winter and scored 62. Since then I began working in audit and its great. Very recently started studying again now BEC. Not a huge fan of becker. Reviewing notes now and intend to schedule for the end of august next week as wellbas start doing many mcq's. I purchased Jeffs bec book. Anyone have it? Did it help you? Any tips im general. I have been seeing a tutor for BEC. Is next week to end of aug enough tome when working full time? I better stop doing fun things and study. PS I suck at calc questions and always pray for theory.

    @amanda1988 thats my birth year too! Plus your posts are awesome 🙂

    Zach! Teetee and I were wondering if you stopped going for the CPA. You were such a regular poster and then I saw nothing after you posted about failing FAR. I'm really happy to see that you didn't give up. Good luck on BEC!!

    Thanks @cpamommyof3 of course I remember you and teetee! Hope all is well. I got into busy season right after failing FAR so couldnt study then. Been doing work and fun stuff so now its gonna be hard drop everything for bec. Hopefully 1.5 months is enough for this 1. Blah im scared to even start. I looked at some material and calculations look hard. How are your exams?

    That's great to hear! Don't be scared. I know you can do it. I think you were just nervous and overwhelmed last time. Just make flashcards for all the formulas and start looking at them every day as you go through the other material. You'll get it. It's just repeat, repeat, repeat. My exams have gone well, but I deeply regret saving the two big guys for last. I'm BURNT OUT! My advice to you is to alternate BEC or AUD then REG or FAR. I went from easiest to hardest (based on my strengths and weaknesses) and on the one hand you can build your confidence a little, but on the other hand it is like climbing a very steep mountain and feeling like you'll never reach the top. I know I'll get there, but at times it looks so far away since I've been at this for a year. We can both do it. Persistence is our best friend! 🙂 Glad to have you back!
