    @h0wdyus

    Incorrect

    The answer is B. Comparable sales.

    “The use of comparable sales is not an income approach to valuation of a business, it is a market approach. Under the comparable sales approach, the value of a business is determined by comparing it to other entities with comparable characteristics for which the value is more readily determinable.”

    This was a tricky one

    Expansionary fiscal policy is generally in the form of increased govt spending, or reduced taxes, both of which shift demand to the right and lead to US consumers purchasing a greater amount of non-domestic goods (negative impact on net exports).

    Expansionary monetary policy is generally in the form of an increase in money supply by reducing reserve requirements, the purchase of govt securities by the FED, or a cut in the discount rate for example. Increasing the supply of the US dollar makes the dollar cheaper relative to other currencies, which makes goods produced here more attractive to non-domestic consumers (thereby a positive effect on net exports).

    Hopefully that helps!

    Thanks @Kenada! I hope the WTB questions are harder and more complex than what I see on the BEC exam

    @Cannot Pass Again, you can do it! Don't let the progress tests discourage you. When you take them, carefully review the ones you got wrong and make sure you understand why the correct answer is right, and why your initial answer was not. Keep knocking out mcq's in my opinion.

    Expansionary fiscal policy means that the govt is spending (tax or borrowed) money to stimulate the economy.

    Because borrowings increase, they crowd-out businesses competing for the same loans, thus reducing business investment.

    There should be more to this explanation though.

    Expansionary monetary policy means that the central bank is “easing” (open market purchases of bonds to increase bank reserves, to increase loans (and reduce the interest rates)).

    Lower interest rates would have the effect of depreciating the dollar, which makes exports more competitive vis a vis imports.

    Thus a positive effect on net exports.

    @Bpk

    When the govt buys it generally buys domestic goods (infrastructure) though.

    And if if lowers taxes, why would consumers buy more imported goods than before the tax-cut, in order to have a “negative” effect on net exports.

    @Amanda

    What is WTB's explanation?

    @ cannot

    What's the rush? Testing window does not close for 6 weeks.

    I'm scheduling my test on the last day to give myself maximum study time 🙂

    (If I can get an NTS).

    @ MOD I would believe that the cut in taxes would cause consumers to buy more non-domestic goods, because generally speaking the US imports>exports. A cut in taxes would increase disposable income, if consumers already purchase more int'l goods then domestic (as a trend), then the increase in imports would be greater than the increase in exports.

    I'm also curious what the WTB explanation is.

    Hey everyone,

    Can you actually reschedule less than 24 hours?

    Note: Any changes made 24 hours or less prior to your appointment will forfeit your fees and you will need to reapply to your board of accountancy or its designated agency. Please see your Candidate Bulletin for more information.

    I am not sure what this means? Anyone rescheduled a day before?

    You reschedule within that 24 hr period you lose you all of your test fees. In other words, if your test is at 5pm tomorrow, you'd have to reschedule before 5 pm today to not lose all of your money. If you're already in the 24 hour period you're better off just giving it a shot. You've lost your money either way

    @Cannot Pass Again, I just realized this is your last exam! I guess it can't really hurt delaying it a little while, especially if you feel that another week would make the difference between passing/failing.

    @HeartsMimiCPA

    My exam is 12:30PM tomorrow, so I am in less than 24 hours now

    I am not sure what you meant all my money and fees?

    like need to reapply NTS again?

    Yes you'll have to apply for a new NTS and pay the entire exam fee again.

    You should at least go and give the test a shot. Who knows, you may surprise yourself.
