    @h0wdyus

    Incorrect

    The answer is B. Comparable sales.

    “The use of comparable sales is not an income approach to valuation of a business, it is a market approach. Under the comparable sales approach, the value of a business is determined by comparing it to other entities with comparable characteristics for which the value is more readily determinable.”

    This was a tricky one

    I have to drive about 1.5 hours to my exam (at 8:00) so Starbucks is my ritual. Love me some Starbucks… LOL

    I wasn't that nervous about AUD, but I am pretty nervous about BEC… I test at 8:00 tomorrow.

    I'm really screwed on this test.

    I've been traveling for inventory for the past 3 weeks. I could push the test back but i think i'd rather go in there and at least try and fail than just giving up until October. It also doesn't help that interim testwork is due this week

    AUD - 65, 89!
    REG - 70, 89!
    FAR - 78!
    BEC - 77!

    Reading all 6 chapters in Becker today and taking notes of terms/concepts not yet memorized so that I can perfect them later tonight. Will also read through Becker's WC simulations tonight as I fall asleep.

    Test at 4 PM tomorrow..

    @Nick it looks like we have the same schedule for these exams. You think you can fit FAR into one month?

    @anothercpa

    Just read a 2 or 3 WC. That is it. You are not going to get the ones that are in the book for sure.

    @h0wdyus … Are you roughly the size of a barge? (This is a Disney reference!)

    I have to be careful about my pre-test ritual… I can continually drink liquids all day, non stop. I can go back for coffee after coffee, tea, etc… So I actually have to make sure to stop myself from drinking about 2 1/2 hours before the exam so I make sure I don't have any running to the bathroom problems.

    So my test is Sunday, and I'm taking off from work tomorrow.

    Study plan:

    -Friday –> MCQs all day. Using the Wiley book & CPAreviewforfree.com since I finished everything in CPAexcel

    -Saturday –> Review notes for harder concepts. Rewrite all equations. Study/write up some WC's

    -Sunday –> Test!

    @Another, I'm not starting at my firm until October 6th. All I've done this summer is study, and I plan on doing that this September…

    Also, can anyone explain Transfer Pricing to me once more….

    I'm under the impression that subsidiaries would charge higher prices so as to reduce gross profit in higher tax regions but apparently they charge lower? Maybe I'm confused with how the tax is assessed…

    @Nick

    The objective is to reduce overall tax paid by the parent and Sub combined.

    If Sub is in a high tax country. Then the parent will transfer( sell ) goods to sub at a high price. The subs cost is high now. So when sub sell , they have a low profit and so lower tax, even though there tax rate is higher. The Parent had a low tax rate already so they can afford to make higher profit and still pay lower tax due to low tax rate in the parent companies country.

    The situation is usually reverse. the sub is usually in a low tax country, otherwise why would you have a sub in that country.

    I just gave you the reverse example.
