    @h0wdyus

    Incorrect

    The answer is B. Comparable sales.

    “The use of comparable sales is not an income approach to valuation of a business, it is a market approach. Under the comparable sales approach, the value of a business is determined by comparing it to other entities with comparable characteristics for which the value is more readily determinable.”

    This was a tricky one

    I posted this before but I think it got lost in all of the long questions posts.

    Does anyone have page numbers for the Becker book that are super important when doing a review? Or just a list of need to know formulas?

    I take my test in a little over a week and I don't feel prepared (only had 3 weeks) but I don't have time to go back through the entire book. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    @CPAin14…Good luck, I'm right here rooting for you:)

    @2014CPAHopeful….Congratulations, you did great.

    Anyway, I write mine on Sunday 24th. Lets see how it goes.

    Question….

    A company can finance an equipment purchase through a loan. Alternatively, it often can obtain the same equipment through a lease arrangement. A factor that would not be considered when comparing the lease financing with the loan financing is:

    A.

    whether the lessor has a higher cost of capital than the lessee.

    B.

    whether the lessor and lessee have different tax reduction opportunities.

    C.

    the residual value of the property.

    D.

    the capacity of the equipment.

    I'm sure its somewhere in this thread but I don't have time to read the whole thing. Can anyone recommend anyplace to find guidance on the written portion of BEC? I am using CPAexcel and I don't see anything about it in there.

    Topics possible? Length? Format (letter, memo, report, etc…)?

    FAR - Passed (2/14)
    REG - Passed (5/14)
    Audit - Passed (8/14)
    BEC - 8/31
