    @h0wdyus

    Incorrect

    The answer is B. Comparable sales.

    “The use of comparable sales is not an income approach to valuation of a business, it is a market approach. Under the comparable sales approach, the value of a business is determined by comparing it to other entities with comparable characteristics for which the value is more readily determinable.”

    This was a tricky one

    Folks

    The 2 way and 3 way variance theory questions are killing me. Any thoughts on how to tackle Fixed OH along with Variable OH Variance. Any thoughts. Anyyy….

    @h0wdyus

    With 3 way variance, 3 variances are reported separately

    1.VOH Spending Variance

    2.FOH Efficiency Variance

    3.FOH Volume Variance

    With 2 way variance 1 and 2 are added together to form Budget Variance, FOH Volume variance will continue to be reported separately

    Budget Variance (1.VOH Spending Variance +2.FOH Efficiency Variance)

    3.FOH Volume Variance

    Hope this helps

    I thought 3 way are

    1) OH Spending Variance. Combined the 2 spending Variances

    2) VOH Efficiency Variance

    3) FHO production volume variance

    Well, that's what I got in Gleim. They give the formulas but they're not really tested. Who knows…lol

    I hope they are not tested. There seems to be a variation in the variance formula. I hope it is not unfavourable to us. 🙂 🙂

    @ h0wdyus — I didn't have any overhead variance questions — mine were DL or DM.

    Passed this section!

    @h0wdyus … We all face a cost/benefit analysis with this test. I wasn't kidding when I said I skipped it. There are certain topics I just won't put in the time to memorize, because I don't see a benefit in spending an inordinate amount of time on a small topic.

    I am sure there are others here who will disagree with me, but that is just how I see it.

    @2014

    Thanks. Any more insights will be helpful.

    @RandomAlt

    My plan is to just do the worked example for 2 and 3 way variance in the Wiley book. Try and do the questions in the book. Then leave it at that, in Gods hands.
