I’ve had a few requests for April/May Study Groups…March will be here before you know it.

In order to take an early April exam, you should begin studying…now. 🙂

Ok real quick, having trouble understanding this…

Which of the following would cause the national output of country X to fall?

    a.

A rise in real interest rates, a rise in the value of country X's currency, a decrease in government spending, and an increase in consumer taxes.

This all makes sense except for rise in country's currency. Why would an increase in currency value cause the output to fall? Isn't their currency stronger so they can buy more for less?

    AUD - 75 ☺
    FAR - 65, 71, 70, 77 ☺
    BEC - 80 ☺
    REG - 73, 66, 79 ☺ 2/28/15

    Done!

A Rise in the currency means it's more expensive, so exports to other countries will be more expensive. The other countries will buy less of the domestic products as a result.

    FAR - 93
    REG - 87
    BEC - 84!!!!
AUD - 99!!!!!! CPA exam complete.

Not bad at all. Nice and short. On to IT today. I just can't get over how small this book is for BEC 😉

Casa, I noticed you're taking the exam just in time for the May 23 score release date. I might be waiting for scores with you, I'm going to look for May 10 or 11 opening, a weekend, so I don't have to take the day off from work.

How many weeks does everyone plan on studying for this exam? I started last week but I'm afraid the amount of time I'm giving myself is excessive. But I'd rather be over-prepared than under.

    FAR 75
    AUD 74, 82
    REG 58, 74, 83
    BEC 68, 75
    Licensed 7.1.14!!!

Yeah…I haven't actually scheduled the exam but that is when I would like to take it since the 15th is a cutoff. I really don't want to wait a long time for my grade since this is my last test.

I was also thinking it might be a little long but like you said better safe than sorry. I'm still working around 70 hrs a week so this should give me time to sleep …..lmao. I also started studying last week but am just now making sure I study every day.

I've been slacking with my studying. I think it's because this is the last exam to pass (hopefully), and not having to take two exams in one window makes me more relaxed but I really wish it didn't. It would be painful to have to retake FAR. Taking a month break after REG was so nice, it's hard for me now to get back into serious study mode.

    AUD 74, 82
    REG 58, 74, 83

I'm scheduled for a BEC rematch on the 3rd of April. I haven't participated in one of these before, but lurked the FAR thread for Q1.

On my first attempt, I struggled with IT and Corporate Governance, and did fairly well in the Corporate Governance, Cost Accounting, and Economics topic areas. I thought the writing prompts were incredibly easy- but wouldn't mind squeezing out a few more points in this area.

This go round, I'm focusing quite a bit more on the MCQ's, which should help with some of the terms and conceptual aspects of the areas I struggled in.

Hi all! I just found out I passed BEC, so I thought I'd “pay it forward” by sharing some tips…

-Practice written communication prompts by trying to write essays QUICKLY. I ended up giving myself only 20 minutes (yikes!) for the 3 prompts. At the very least, remember to use complete & technically correct sentences. And, hopefully, you'll have better time management skills than me on the big day

-Formulas, formulas, formulas – stuff them into your head.

-No shortcuts – just gotta put in the long hours and skip out on your social life.

For me, BEC was more difficult than AUD. I had to definitely put in more work for BEC. I used CPAExcel & Ninja Audio.

    AUD: 84 - Oct. 2013
    BEC: 83 - Feb. 2014
    REG: 91 - May, 2014
    FAR: 68, 96 - Oct. 2014...DONE

    CPAExcel, Ninja Audio (all sections)
