mjp44MemberQuinacridone… im in a similar boat. I did not get much studying done this weekend due to the holiday. Taking the exam Ma 12th..Planning on finishing ch 5 in becker tonight and hopefully done with ch 6 by the weekend. I would like to start final review this weekend so that i can get 2 solid weeks of review. I think you will be ok to take the exam May 6..you should have 2 weekends to review and judging by your scores, you seem to grasp the material well.

MrsBingMemberOut of Becker chapters 4-6, which takes the least amount of time to complete? I'm going to need to do 2 chapters in one week in order to get 2 weeks review. Chapter 2 is taking forever and now I'm behind and I can see that Chapter 3 is going to be just as bad.

tffarkbocajMemberHey guys,
Taking BEC a week from yesterday and trying to be done with this whole CPA exam lifestyle. I really have adopted the philosophy that it's not how much you study, but how often. I think an hour at three different times of the day can be way more valuable than a 4 hour chunk at once. I'm a little worried that I haven't exhausted myself enough studying for this exam, but after the emotional drain of REG I really don't think I could put myself back through it. I'm taking a no stress, do your best approach and whatever happens will happen. All study hours are not created equal, and I find that the high-intensity/stressful blocks don't really leave you feeling any more prepared. We'll see how this pans out…

MrsBingMemberCan someone explain how to do this question? I keep getting 26,600 units, but Becker is saying it's 26,680.
I'm trying to first get the Budgeted Production, then when I get that number use it to get the Direct Materials to be purchased. I'm getting confused on the beg/end inventories.
Card Bicycle Co. has prepared production and raw materials budgets for next year. At the end of this year, the finished product inventory is expected to include 2,000 bicycles, and raw material inventory is expected to include 3,000 bicycle tires. Each finished bicycle requires two tires. The marketing department provided the following data from the sales budget for the first quarter:
Expected bicycle sales (units)
January 12,000
February 16,000
March 18,000
The company inventory policy is to have finished product inventory equal to 20% of the following month's sales requirements, and raw material equal to 10% of the following month's production requirements. In the January budget for raw materials, how many tires are expected to be purchased?
a.26,600
b.24,200
c.26,120
d.26,680

NYCaccountantParticipantYou start the year with 2,000 bicycles in inventory, and 3,000 tires. You want to sell 12,000, so automatically we know you need to produce 10,000 bicycles. You need 20,000 tires and you already have 3,000 in stock, so you have to buy 17,000 tires to meet the current sales.
Policy is to have 20% of the following months sales requirement in ending inventory, so 16,000*20%=3,200*2= 6,400 tires you have to buy to produce 20% of next months sales.
Policy states that you need to have 10% of next months production on hand. In february, you need to sell 16,000 bicycles, but you already had 3,200 on hand, so you need to produce 12,800 Bicycles (16,000-3,200), which equates to 25,600 in tires. Also, for February you need to produce 20% of March's sales, so 18,000*20%= 3,600 Bicycles, which equates to 7,200 tires. In total, production for February is 32,800 (25,600+7,200). 32, 800 *10%= 3,280
So it should be 17,000+ 6,400+3,280= 26,680

NYCaccountantParticipantI would say COSO probably, but I guess that would be a part of corporate governance? It was combifned with corporate governance when I used Wiley. But some of the COSO exam questions I had were not covered in Wiley. I went home and checked. Is there hope those were pretest? probably not.

BenParticipantI hear this exam can be tricky with its weird topics. It is not as focused as the others are for sure. As this is my last one I am really trying to knock it out for good!

NYCaccountantParticipantI had no financial management questions – not one! Some of my Coso questions were not covered by Wiley. I'm hoping they were pretest because they went above and beyond the text. I also had no IT questions.
Then I had a bunch of questions on just new topics. The reason I say new is because the topics are not covered in virtually any review courses. I checked 5-6 courses and the topics were not there.

AnonymousInactiveQuestion for those using Becker. Did it take you guys forever to get through B1 and B2? It's taking me forever to go through the 100+ questions on each section! Worried I will fall behind my schedule. Exam is scheduled for May 29th. Any tips for those two chapters? Especially B2 (Strategic Planning)
