I’ve had a few requests for April/May Study Groups…March will be here before you know it.

In order to take an early April exam, you should begin studying…now. 🙂

For WACC problems, it seems like the questions always provide the cost of equity but i was wondering if anyone has experienced one where you had to calculate it? The reason I ask is unlike the cost of debt the cost of equity takes a little bit of number crunching. You can use DCF, CAPM or dividend growth model to value cost of equity. I could see the examiners throwing a curve-ball there.

lol, just caught a mistake in the 2013 wiley book. mod 44, questions 21 and 23 are pretty much exactly the same, verbatim. or maybe they're trying to simulate the actual exam? some people claim they've been asked the same question twice.

I don't think this is breaking ‘the rules' because I'm not divulging test specific questions, but I have taken several exam sections that had what was essentially the same question. Always in different testlets though.

@JD does your review hours include watching the videos? or is that simply taking notes and doing MCQ?

Did you purchase Ninja Notes or anything? What review are you using?

    Thanks

Has anyone taken the finals for Becker yet? I took the first one and averaged a 78 between the three testlets. A little lower than what I wanted but it's higher than both of my REG ones. Taking the 2nd one tomorrow. How is everyone else doing on those?

I got this question from CPAreviewforfree and I think there is an error…

The security market line (SML) graphs the relationship between

A Expected return and standard deviation

B Business risk and financial risk

C Systematic risk and unsystematic risk

D Expected return and systematic risk (beta)

D is correct but I think it should be expected return and unsystematic risk. Beta measures the unsystematic(company specific risk) and systematic.

No, Variance measures systematic and unsystematic risk. How an investment moves compared to the mean or expected value. Beta measures systemic risk, how an investment moves compared to a group of investments or market. Thats how I got it.

Coefficient of variation (variance) – how standard deviation relates to expected market value

Coefficient of correlation (beta) How an investment moves compared to the a group of investments.

Thats how I have it in my notes. Does your review program describe it differently?

Ahhh my bad….youre right. Beta measures just the market(systematic risk).

So I just started BEC a few days ago, and wow…second half of B1 and B2 seem to be pretty tough, at least when I try to do the MCQ it seems tough. Is it just me, or is that normal? Tell me that's the hardest part of BEC
