Im taking BEC on Monday (i know, a holiday… but Prometric promises me they will be open). I feel like I just can't grasp any of the cost accounting material. I understand all of the concepts and get all of the concept (Becker) practice questions right, but I cannot for the life of me do the calculations no matter how much I practice. Anyone have any tips for getting this info down? I passed AUD and FAR pretty easily, but for some reason I'm finding this cost accounting (and finance to a point) material impossible to grasp.
I feel like I failed BEC on monday, just like I did for the other three that I passed on the first try. Did anyone feel the same way and actually fail BEC? It doesn't make sense that the passing rate for BEC is about the same as all the others, and has less material and easier concept than FAR and Reg
SeanM, I just took BEC yesterday and I too was having trouble in the cost accounting, but now I feel like a pro. I wrote down all the formulas on a piece of paper, I would then do the homework I would look at the paper for guidance on what I was forgetting. I usually got it wrong, but I didnt give up. As I read the correct answer I would work the problem again, finally stumbling upon the correct answer. I know this method sounds lame, but it worked for me. The way the book was explaining it didnt work, so I did trial and error until it connected for me. I hope this gives you some sort of encouragement, good luck!
As I said in above post, I just took BEC yesterday and it was not what I expected. I felt over prepared by like a million and I didnt study as much as I should. Testlets took 25, 25, and 29 minutes. I feel like I did a good job, but I don't feel that the questions got harder at all. I think they stayed pretty even. I walked out of there thinking that it was probably one of the easiest and lamest tests I have taken……Am i being naive or has someone experience similar situations with BEC? Thanks.
I have BEC in just over 5 hours! If all goes well, I will be done with this beast of an exam! Lets hope my 10 day, 8 hours a day BEC crash course did the trick! Good luck to everyone else squeezing it in before the end of the window!
NY Candidate using Becker: FAR (2/20) - 81, AUD (4/3) - 92, REG (5/3) - 95, BEC (5/29) - 89 DONE!!!
