I've seen scores being posted by 6 pm Pacific Time.. that means 8 pm in Texas. Let's hope for our sake that so is the case this time around… this wait is excruciating! I'm frankly getting bored now.. losing the earlier eagerness and curiosity to know my score

    Hi guys!

New to this site just received my score and I didn't pass. Got a 70 for BEC. I was/ am using CPA EXcel. Any advise on how i should approach the exam in the next window. I was reading all the motivational talks to each other, and i just figured that i needed so kind of inspiration to attempt it again.

Best of Luck to everyone else who was sucessful.

Hey CPAby2010, sorry to hear that. Here are a few words of advice:

I think you should take very seriously the “Exam score diagnostic report” that you would receive from your jurisdictional exam authority. It would give you useful pointers on which areas to concentrate more on.

About exam material: The one you've mentioned is at least to my knowledge not a standard review course. Depending upon whether you wanna rely on self-study or lectures or other modes of study there are many exam review courses available. Wiley, Becker, Gleim, Yaeger are the most standard and common ones. Please follow the discussions about which study material is useful on other topics on this or other CPA forums online. There are also exam support groups and study groups on this website and elsewhere on the net. You'd also stand to benefit from them.

BTW, which state did you appear from?? Hang in there and better luck next time!

CPAby2010: I know how you feel, I took BEC in feb and got a 69. Hoping to have passed it this time around! Will find out in a few hours….. I'm using gleim and I basically study every single question (about 1900 for the BEC). The exam questions seem to portray the questions from gleim, but I still had many questions on the exam that I have never seen before. It is really frustrating but I plan to keep plugging away till I get it!

Hey sorry to here you didn't pass. Keep it up. I used Becker successfully for 3 of my exams and than I got a 74 on BEC. This time around I used both Becker and used the Wiley text book for BEC. It gave me a new way to look at the exam plus additional questions. Hope this helps.

I did what Sara did. I read the Becker lectures and took notes, and went through the Wiley computer questions. That is a very good supplement to Becker. According to the loophole, I passed. The first time that I attempted the four exams, I didn't study more than 10 hours each, so I really shouldn't list those scores anymore.

Don't get discouraged. Pick a part that you think you may have the best chance to pass first. I was a double finance and accounting major, so I thought that BEC or FAR would be the easiest for me.

    AUD – 57, TBA, BEC – 58, passed according to the loophole, FAR – 61, July 6, REG – 37, TBA

    @CPAby2010:

Wiley worked for me… 90+ in other 3 sections.. only BEC awaited now. If you want to rely only on text review courses and want value for your money, I think Wiley is the best. Becker is way too expensive. But if your employer is sponsoring it or if you are ready to shell out more, you can also go for Becker. I've heard that Yaeger cram is also good (in area of video lectures).

    TurdFerguson,

Your scores made me laugh (which I needed). I found Becker to be VERY user friendly. I used the self study material so I could do it my own pace. The loophole tells me “You passed all parts of the uniform CPA examination”… I hope it's true!

@CPAby2010: I failed BEC once using Wiley. However, I shouldn't blame Wiley as I did not think I had prepared well. Next time, I used Becker and passed. My experience with Becker is that if I complete the homework MCQ once while studying and then one more time before the exam in last 4-5 days, you can't fail. All you focus is complete the MCQ twice- understing the answers, you pretty much will pass. It has worked for me in AUD and FAR too. Currently waiting for REG which I took on 5-2-10.

A little dilemma… has anyone taken any exams while possible dealing with mono?? 🙁 Going in tomorrow to see… This test on Monday may not go as well as I hoped.

    FAR: 78 BEC: 79 REG: 86 AUD: 74, 83 DONE!!!

I think the last window was a fluke for us and that GA will start around 10. That is what time I got my score from the 1st wave Jan test when there were no delays/holding the window open like in the last window!! T-minus 59 minutes baby! We are on our way to the CPA

Shawna's smile deserves an extra ten points. This process has been anything but smiles.

My first attempts, I simply didn't have the time to study and I was given bad advice about cramming all four parts in six months. I know now that it is going to take 50-100 hours per part to pass and hopefully that is why the loophole appears to be working in my favor for the first time ever.

AUD – TBA, BEC – 75 or greater if loophole works again, FAR – July 6, REG – TBA
