For FIFO Use this Formula – it works every time

    Beginning Inv. * (100-Percentage complete)

    Plus:

    Units started and competed

    Minus: beginning inv

    Plus:End Inv. * (percentage complete)

To get the cost per EU, use only current costs and divide by the EU's you calculated.

UGH…CPA – is the answer 70,000 units? this is how i solved it based on what becker says to do for FIFO equivalent units of production:

    1.) 150,000 beg x 30% (to complete) = 45,000

plus units started and completed this period 140,000

less units in beginning inventory <150,000> <10,000>

    2. work in process, ending 140,000 x 25% 35,000

    ___________

    70,000

    AUD - 84; REG - 90; BEC - 79; FAR - 75; ALL DONE!!

    sorry that format came out kinda screwed up. but the 45,000 – 10,000 + 35,000 = 70,000.

is that the answer the book gives you?

    AUD - 84; REG - 90; BEC - 79; FAR - 75; ALL DONE!!

This is the answer the book gives. I'm wondering if the question is missing some information.

equivalent units are calculated as units completed (140,000) minus equivalent units in beginning inventory (7,000 = 10,000 Γ— 70%) plus the equivalent units in ending inventory (5,000 = 20,000 Γ— 25%). Therefore, the equivalent units are equal to 138,000 (140,000 Β– 7,000 + 5,000).

the question never gave you ending inventory.

    AUD - 81, BEC - 74, 80, FAR - 82, REG - 81

No. It didn't give beginning or ending. I'm think that this question is missing information but I just wanted to make sure that I'm not missing anything. I found another question in the test bank that was wrong too. I have the Wiley book and that same question was in the book so I was about to confirm the information was missing. This question is not in the book so I can't confirm if it's wrong or I'm just not understanding how to answer this question.

does anyone know if there is a curve on this exam? Is it basically like a regular MC test in college? Get 67 right, you PASS……

BEC becker chapter 3…what the heck! I am pretty sure I have never been more lost in my life. From what I am reading, I should maybe hold that thought til chapter 5. Hopefully, repetition will help πŸ™

    AUD 95 (3/5/10); BEC 83 (5/28/10); FAR 71, 72, 74, 82 (10/16/10); REG 65,80(11/23/10)

    hopeful_cpa,

I did use becker for audit. Do the MC questions over and over. I did then 5 times. Also, do the supplementals and the final exam. I think I did those twice. Then, know the reports and how they change based on the opinion. I saw identical questions from becker on my exam. I am terrified of FAR (have retaken it twice) and now, I am getting scared of BEC :(. I take mine on May 28. Let me know what you think when you take it and when you start studying for Audit, let me know if I can help in any way. πŸ™‚

I took BEC last week…and I didn't really feel like Becker prepared me for IT at all. I had questions on computer programming code and operating system functions….it wasn't fun at all…but other than the IT, I had at least seen something on all of the other questions….now the waiting for the score begins…

    FAR-99, AUD-99, BEC-91, REG-(5/29)

needmyLIFOback: how did the becker questions compare to the actual questions on the exam? more difficult on the exam or less?

I am taking BEC next friday and am kinda freaking out right now.

Awesome job on FAR and AUD!!!
