I studied relentlessly and got over 90% on all the Wiley BEC practice questions and practiced writing the memos. Got a score of 67! Just purchased Becker to help me pass. This is the second time I got a 67. Anyone else have this problem? Could use some suggestions. Thanks!

    REG – 79

    AUD – 79 (just expired)

    FAR – 75

    BEC – 67

I have battled BEC 3x and its not been that easy, BEC is just a crazy section and I personally think im being punished by AICPA because English is my second language, but seriously? Written portion is only 15% and I don’t know why im still struggling with BEC.

Just cheer up and keep on studying, you will pass one of these days. You probably know your weak areas and all you need to do is to work on it.

    REG -63│ 84!!
    BEC- 59│70│ 71 │78!
    AUD- 75!
    FAR- 87!

CJH – I had the same problem. Focus on learning the calculations and when to use them. I started with Becker, and only passed 1. Using Wiley, I failed BEC, passed AUD, and then passed BEC. I hope it works for you.

    Yes, you can!

Get the NINJA notes and use them with your study course. Write your MCQ fact nuggets in the white space and review them every day. Have a good understanding of each topic mentioned in the NINJA notes. It's not a complete list (meaning start at the beginning and review everything) but you need to know that info. Learn PURE DADS for variances because it will help you in the heat of the moment if you get a variance question. Have confidence in your WC because that is a good source of points.

Losing a section sucks but you can finish this.

Good luck! Get back up and kill BEC!

@baxter can you explain pure dads? Haven't seen that in becker. Just got through class for b1-3 did questions for b-1 feel comfortable on the cost decision making but b-2 and 3 are rough. A lot of formulas and such to memorize need all the help I can get.

    P D x A (Difference x Actual)

    U D x S (Difference x Standard)

    R D x A

    E D x S

    Price Usage Rate Efficiency

Try a few problems with this and see if it helps.

    Good luck.

To clarify, Price = Difference x Actual (and so on)

As Baxter said, know your formulas. When I started rewriting my notes I made a sheet with all the formulas on it and I rewrote this sheet everday the week leading up to the exam. Also the best way to remember forumulas is to practice using them. So do as many MCQs as you can. I think PURE DADS is what saved me the second time around. It was not explained in my material but I found a thread on here that explained it and it made those variance problems so much easier.

    REG - 64, 72, 81!
    FAR - 77
    AUD - 79
    BEC - 72, 79! And Done!
