i know whats in each report from the becker neumonics but do i have to know how to write out a whoile report for the exam??

I didn't memorize them. I just knew the main differences between them.

AUD - 81, BEC - 74, 80, FAR - 82, REG - 81

I memorized them word for word and for me it was the difference between passing and failing. You might be strong without memorizing them but I do recommend it. I had recorded myself reading them on my i-phone and I was taking walks while listening to it. 🙂

I don't think you need to memorize the reports word for word. For M/C, you just need to understand the differences between them. And if you need to write one out in the communication tab, then you can just search it in the research, split the screen, and rewrite it! Back when I was studying for AUD, the reports were searchable. I hope they still are.

My accounting professor in college made us memorize it and said it will greatly assist us on the exam…he couldnt be more right. I def think its worthwhile for the multiple choice and the sims.

did you memorize all the reports or just the standard unqualified? I take the test on May 28…I also noticed some ratios…were there many numerical questions???

Just the 3 standard ones: audit, review and compilation. For the other ones I only knew the key differences (sentences).

There were not many q's for calculation. Most of it is just theory. I would learn the ratios though because they are tested in all 3 sections – BEC, AUD and FAR. Once you memorize it now it would be much easier later. Only REG doesn't have the ratios. Well, I now saw that you already did your other exams. So, never mind… AUD is the least calculations of all.

I did not memorize them verbatim but could look at the report and know if something was off.

And that's what I meant by memorizing: knowing it. Maybe you don't need to recite them but know terminology used. Everyone is different but knowing them helped me. I get nervous on the exam and this feels comforting, one less thing to worry about. Also, I am slow and dont' want to go to the research tab for something like this and waste my time on copying reports. But if you are fast like some people on this site maybe you'd be ok with not memorizing them. This is why it is so difficult to give advice….

I figure with the ten minutes they give you to accept… I could just write it down on the scratch paper and have one less thing to worry about….hell i may have a brain fart that day….who knows??

Nope i am not fast…i wanna take this slow…it is bad enough already!!! I do enjoy everyones advice. I just read it all and apply what i could use. you know the type of person you are and the fact that i even asked lets me know that i should just memorize it and get it over with….

I'm confused as well. You said they give you 10 minutes to accept. You don't actually sit there for 10 minutes and wait, do you? I'm pretty sure that cuts into your total exam time, does it not?

If you read the “Quit Exam” option here on another71….and read Jeff's comment you will see what i am talking about. And no your time starts when you go to the test. They give you ten minutes to read all the pre crap before the test. But Becker (I am using it) told us not to extend more than ten minutes or else you forfeit your exam. But it will only take me like 3 minutes to write out the reports…i know i have been practicing :}

Good idea. Be careful, last time they told me from the testing center I cannot write anything on my paper until I reach the exam. I was like: What? I always had the 10 minutes?!? Did the rules change? And they : No, but you cannot write anything. Of course, I didn't want to risk so I just sat there going over the crap….
