I think that's a good range for the MCQ on the first crack, assuming you aren't looking back at the book for any of the questions. I'm just starting A5 and I thought the optional MCQ for A4 was the hardest so far.

    BEC - 80 (Becker)
    AUD - 92 (Becker+NINJA MCQ)
    FAR - 87 (Becker+NINJA MCQ)
    REG - 90 (Becker+NINJA MCQ and Audio)

    “Audit

We have updated four lectures within the AUD course (A1, A3, A4, and A6) and made other minor edits

and additions. Detail can be found in the pop up that you will see when you click on each updated

lecture in the course software. If you plan to take the Audit exam in 2015 and you have not started or

recently started studying these lectures, we strongly recommend that you start fresh with the new V1.1

lectures. Otherwise, you can continue to use your V1.0 version materials until 3/31/15.

When you open the updated lectures for the first time on/after November 6th, you will be prompted to

choose which material to study from. This is not a one-time choice โ€“ you can toggle between versions of

each lecture at any time. Your statistics will reflect your progress in the selected lecture. For Becker

Promiseยฎ purposes, you can combine the Performance Summary Reports for V1.0 with new V1.1 to

    determine if you qualify.”-Becker

@acctaks, thanks so much. I have one more question. Do you guys have any good examples of the three fraud reasons(pressure, opportunities, and rationalization). I always confuse in these staff. Thanks

@ WANNABE_CPA I'm still trucking through the material. Probably shoot for a early to mid February test date if I don't get too wrapped up in the holiday festivities.

Everything is in the standards! They go into more detail than the study materials.

pressure ex. Our investors are expecting to see outstanding results this year

opportunities ex. I write the checks for the company. I also record them and make the deposits. I bet I can write a check to myself and cover it up.

rationalization ex. I've been working here for 5 years without a raise. I deserve this check!

This is why segregation of duties is important.

So, reviewing the lawyer's letter isn't a substantive procedure? is inquiry of management not a substantive procedure?

Which of the following procedures most likely would assist an auditor in determining whether management has identified all accounting estimates that could be material to the financial statements?

    A. Inquire about the existence of related party transactions.

    B. Determine whether accounting estimates deviate from historical patterns.

    C. Confirm inventories at locations outside the entity.

Correct D. Review the lawyer's letter for information about litigation.

The auditor considers the following procedures among others in evaluating whether management has identified all accounting estimates that could be material to the financial statements except for:

    Correct A. substantive procedures.

    B. inquiry of management.

    C. information from available minutes.

    D. changes made to the entity's business, including operating strategy, and the industry in which the entity operates.

They are but you're not reading the question carefully. B, C, & D are the substantive procedures that WOULD be used per the question. They are tricky.

I don't think changes made to the entity's business, including operating strategy, and the industry in which the entity operates is a procedure

It looks like the auditor should consider everything but substantive procedures

Lol I didn't read it carefully! Basically, they are saying procedures NOT substantive procedure. This is the auditor's assessment. The auditor is not trying to gather evidence to support an assertion YET. Sorry about that. The auditor would then use the assessment for the N.E.T of the substantive procedures.
