Hi all of my Auditing class of 2013 Ninjas!

Is there a study group topic for Jan/Feb 2013 yet?

If not, can we start one?

I have scheduled my exam for 1/11. This is my second try (73 in Aug. 2012). Tonight I am going to take a mini practice exam to see what I remember and get and idea of my weak spots. And tomorrow I begin re-watching Yaeger vidoes. The entire timeline is to work book questions as I go through each module. Wrapping up the last video by Dec 14. And will do nothing but review, review, review until 1/10. Oh, and take my holiday vacation at the end of December, yikes!

What review material are you using? When is your exam? What topics have you covered? Any tips yet?

AUDIT is mind blowing. It's starting to make sense as I do a more thorough read of the book but the SIMS are a killer. Idk how anyone can prepare for that.

I progress test at the end of each new chapter, and periodically between sessions when I'm bored.

I usually do small blocks from all chapters. Did 30 from chapter 1+2 last week and got 100%, just did 100 from chapter 1+2+3 and got a 90%.

I've found that when they break down which parts you struggled with, you can go back and emphasize those parts of the chapter. For example my most recent test identified I got an 86% on Chapter 1, and I knew it was because I needed to check over the predecessor auditor stuff regarding reissuing reports or dividing/assuming responsibility.

Does anyone know if the AL on the actual test have the complete information. On Becker, it shows “wrong path” on some parts…I'm just hoping I can look up the answers for the sims through the use of the AL.

    @tulong.le

The complete AL will be on the actual test. I would recommend getting comfortable with the AL in Becker, because it will help when you are looking through the complete AL. Good luck!

Hey guys! What reports should I greatly focus on? and what ratios are the most important to memorize?

Thank you for all your help in advance!

I plan to know all the reports, including when to use which, their setup, as well as specific statements made in them.

I do have some of the ratios memorized, but am not going to focus on that. Instead, I'm going to work on knowing how to analyze them and what it infers when they change period-over-period.

I scheduled the exam…eek, commitment. January 17th, guess I should get a move on!

Ok I just found out I failed AUD for the second time. The first time I did the full Becker routine, all the lectures and homework, then reviewed homework and sims and flashcards. Full study time was about 5-6 weeks. I failed with a 68. The second time I did pretty much the same process (put a little more emphasis on review rather than lectures/chapters), but I found out this morning I failed with a 72. This one was a killer because I really thought I had passed it, it felt like I smoked the exam. Feeling pretty gutshot.

So now I'm gearing up for round 3. I was honestly thinking about buying the Wiley Test bank and Ninja notes/audio. Then just working nothing but questions and sims from Wiley and Becker for 3 or 4 weeks straight and supplementing with ninja notes/audio. Im sick of doing the full lectures/reading and I feel like I retain much more from working the homework.

The thoughts of going through all that lecture again makes me want to throw up. Anyone tried a purely homework/sim study plan for a retake?

New to this forum. I failed AUD in October and plan to retake in January. Does anyone have any advice on how to pick yourself up after a failure? I was not expecting a failing grade at all, (but who really is?).

    B - 80 (Aug 2012)
    A - 89 (Jan 2013)
    F - 77 (May 2013)
    R - 83 (Nov 2013)

    Future_FLCPA –

If this was easy everyone would have a CPA license.

Don't give up and remember why you are doing this.

    Keep your head up 🙂
