Hi all of my Auditing class of 2013 Ninjas!

Is there a study group topic for Jan/Feb 2013 yet?

If not, can we start one?

I have scheduled my exam for 1/11. This is my second try (73 in Aug. 2012). Tonight I am going to take a mini practice exam to see what I remember and get and idea of my weak spots. And tomorrow I begin re-watching Yaeger vidoes. The entire timeline is to work book questions as I go through each module. Wrapping up the last video by Dec 14. And will do nothing but review, review, review until 1/10. Oh, and take my holiday vacation at the end of December, yikes!

What review material are you using? When is your exam? What topics have you covered? Any tips yet?

Can anyone give me some advice for studying for auditing. I took it on 11/29/12 and failed terribly…I want to retake January 5…is it wise to purchase the Wiley Auditing MC….Currently I am using Gleim to study.

If a small business for example does not prepare a statement of cash flows (because they do not feel the need to due to their nature of business), does the audito still give a qualified opinion?

Hey AnnaMay-

Omitting the statement of cash flows is a departure from GAAP, so either qualified or adverse.

An adverse opinion is not recommended. You would issue a qualified opinion. The auditor need not present the missing SCF in an explanatory paragraph of the audit report.

@fshelton – I'm not familiar with Gleim other that the rumor it is like reading a dictionary. I HIGHLY recommend Wiley, the 2012 text is amazing or just get the Test Bank, the questions and explanations as well as the software are all great at preparing you for the exam.

Depending on your schedule, one month may not be enough time to prepare for the retest. I would plan to study like it's your first time and go through everything again. With TONS of MCQ practice.

Sorry, I don't know Becker.. I would post a topic in the main forum and ask. Maybe Jeff or someone else can help out… The topics 23 listed in the F2 outline kinda seem all over the place to me.

I have the same question. (even though I don't know that I passed BEC and an in strike until I know. lol)

Just a comment about Gleim: We used Gleim a lot in the financial accounting courses I took at Indiana University. I found the problems difficult to understand and definitely like reading a dictionary. I would definitely supplement.

@fshelton…gleim's testbank is good, but i hope you aren't uaing their notes to learn the concepts bc they are the worst! I think Roger cpa had the best notes, wiley focus notes are good as well for learning concepts…Wileys text is terrible for learning the concepts however (too much info!)…

Anybody living in Reston, VA studying for Audit exam? I would like to know how to prepare for the simulation questions. Wiley Test bank simulation questions are simple. But the exam questions are more tougher with lot of FAR questions.

Things are going smoother for me in this second week.

I'm getting use to studying now – I think – Still scoring in the 70s in HW

I havent done any Sims – planning on doing that the last two weeksof review. Is this a good idea?
