Hi all of my Auditing class of 2013 Ninjas!

Is there a study group topic for Jan/Feb 2013 yet?

If not, can we start one?

I have scheduled my exam for 1/11. This is my second try (73 in Aug. 2012). Tonight I am going to take a mini practice exam to see what I remember and get and idea of my weak spots. And tomorrow I begin re-watching Yaeger vidoes. The entire timeline is to work book questions as I go through each module. Wrapping up the last video by Dec 14. And will do nothing but review, review, review until 1/10. Oh, and take my holiday vacation at the end of December, yikes!

What review material are you using? When is your exam? What topics have you covered? Any tips yet?

Going to start back studying for AUD today. Hopefully this section won't be too bad…especially since I'm an auditor. Planning on taking this section in April.

    FAR - 8/14/12 (64), 8/5/14 (75)
    BEC - 11/19/12 (70), 2/25/13 (72), 11/21/13 (73), 1/21/14 (73), 8/30/14 (72), 11/24/14 (75)
    AUD - 4/22/13 (65), 10/12/13 (79)

What version of Becker are you using because the version I have hasn't talked about tickmarks at all!!

    FAR-PASS!
    REG-PASS!
    BEC-PASS!

I'm using 2013. The tickmarks weren't mentioned much in the lectures/book but Practice Exam #1 did have a simulation on it.

I took a practice exam in Wiley today and it didn't let me see which ones I got wrong. Is there a way to go back and review the questions? I marked a few of them and want to know which way it went.

I did decent on it. I hope that means I can pass this thing. Stupid nerves got me now, oof.

Anyone have a list of those reports that would be restricted? I feel like I'm okay with it but I'd like to review an all-inclusive list to make sure.

    F - 85 (11/2012)
    R - 87 (1/2013)
    A - 92 (2/2013)
    B - 90 (4/2013)

    DONE!

Maybe not an all-inclusive list but:

    -Reports on agreed-upon procedures

-Reporting on internal control during a regular audit of a non-issuer (unless the audit is specifically on internal control – then it's not restricted)

-Reviews of prospective financial statements; sometimes on forecasted financials, but not required on forecasts

-Reports on OCBOA financials presented on a regulatory or contractual basis

Others? I can't think of any at the moment.

Nice list, thanks for doing that @annanutha. I just took the Becker practice exam #2 and one of the SIMs involved identifying whether the report would be restricted or not. Your list looked good, only thing I'd add is “Compliance with a contractual agreement related to audited FS.”

I totally forgot about the restriction on the IC report of a FS audit of non issuers if not reported on separately.

    F - 85 (11/2012)
    R - 87 (1/2013)
    A - 92 (2/2013)
    B - 90 (4/2013)

    DONE!

    #399247

@AnnaNutha, wait a minute, I thought review of prospective F/S is specifically not allowed!

Per SSAE, only examinations, compilations and agreed-upon procedures that the practitioner is allowed to perform in regards to projections & forecasts.

Somebody correct me if i'm wrong, please.

    @AnnaNutha:

You can review your exam by clicking on the “My Reports” tab, and selecting “Incorrect Questions” or “Bookmarked Questions”.

@SeattleAccountant – that's correct…no reviews of prospective FS allowed, only compilations, examinations, or AUP. Good catch.

    F - 85 (11/2012)
    R - 87 (1/2013)
    A - 92 (2/2013)
    B - 90 (4/2013)

    DONE!

Hmm, I wonder if they were reviewing the assumptions used in the prospective financials? The question had to do with the assumptions, I believe. I don't remember now.

Thanks for telling me where to review the missed answers, too. I'm going to go do that real quick before I leave! 🙂

Edit: There is no report there for the test I took. In the CPA test bank, I clicked “Take a Test” and took it. When I was done, it gave me a score but no way to go back into it. Under “My Assessments” there is no report for that test and when I click to go back into the test, it just gives me a new test and no way to see my other one.

Hmmm…I guess you need to individually save every exam in order to review it. However, I don't remember saving mine and it shows up.

My Reports —> Incorrect Questions —> Auditing and Attestation —> Select Session

***Just reread your post. My Assessments does not contain “Take a Test” results. Those can be found by using the instructions listed above. Good luck!
