Hi all of my Auditing class of 2013 Ninjas!

Is there a study group topic for Jan/Feb 2013 yet?

If not, can we start one?

I have scheduled my exam for 1/11. This is my second try (73 in Aug. 2012). Tonight I am going to take a mini practice exam to see what I remember and get and idea of my weak spots. And tomorrow I begin re-watching Yaeger vidoes. The entire timeline is to work book questions as I go through each module. Wrapping up the last video by Dec 14. And will do nothing but review, review, review until 1/10. Oh, and take my holiday vacation at the end of December, yikes!

What review material are you using? When is your exam? What topics have you covered? Any tips yet?

When is it going to end?! At least weather is blah and not tempting to get out.

No sunday, no fun, nothing. And i'm not even close to the end with REC & BEC hanging over my neck 🙂

Other than some flashcards tomorrow in the AM before the exam, my prep work is done. My brain is swimming in standards- as long as I can keep them all straight in my head tomorrow hopefully things will be good. It's amazing how these tests can make you feel like you know nothing, even after weeks and weeks of intense prep.

Good luck to those of you still preparing- I'll be cheering for you and watching for lots of passing scores during release time.

Hello Everyone! This is my first post. I've surfed through this board for the past few weeks looking for some tips and motivation and you guys have been great in providing that. I am a week away from taking Audit. I've used multiple sources for studying (CPA Excel, Wiley Test Bank, Wiley Focus Notes, & CPA Smart Test app on the IPAD) and I don't feel 100% confident, but the train is coming full steam ahead and I have to be on time whether I am ready or not.

Just finished that whopper 122 questions of hell for A4 optional questions and got 74%. I'm starting to feel really really bad about my chances on this exam. I feel no more smarter or more informed than when I started the MCQs…every answer feels like a guess. REG was hard sure, but when I knew something, I KNEW it. I click every answer just waiting for the yellow bar to come up. Sometimes it takes me two minutes just to comprehend the question and the four choices, and even then I don't understand all of the choices most of the time.

I can't believe AUD is causing me this much trouble, I honestly thought it'd be my easiest exam. This feels hopeless.

Also, does anyone know which chapter on Becker mention” attorney letter”? I am reading my notes now and could not locate “attorney letter” on the book.

I am also using Becker, I have not seen Attorney letter as of A3..Maybe in remain chapters.

@mypetmeatball- was that your first pass through that set of questions? I pretty much got the same % correct as you on my first pass through them. It really will sink in- I did much better the 2nd time when I came back a few weeks later in my final review. Don't get discouraged- you can do it!

Thanks Badger. Just out of curiousity, did you do any rereading during your final review? I'm curious about the cost-benefit of taking the time to read in lieu of doing questions and looking at note cards. Part of me thinks I need to look at this stuff again so these questions retroactively make sense.

mypetmeatball – it seriously sounds like you and I are in the same boat. I'm surprised at how much trouble I'm having with AUD. I spent about 5 years at a Big 4 Firm doing auditing; granted, I've been totally out of accounting for a few years but I'm having a hard time with some of these questions. I thought AUD would be my easiest exam. I just did my review for A-1 tonight and thankfully my scores went up but I'm still getting in the mid 70s or higher.

I don't plan on re-reading the book as I find that to be a waste of time. I'm just reviewing the flashcards I made and doing nonstop MCQs. When do you sit? I've got until the 28th to get this down.
