Hi all of my Auditing class of 2013 Ninjas!

Is there a study group topic for Jan/Feb 2013 yet?

If not, can we start one?

I have scheduled my exam for 1/11. This is my second try (73 in Aug. 2012). Tonight I am going to take a mini practice exam to see what I remember and get and idea of my weak spots. And tomorrow I begin re-watching Yaeger vidoes. The entire timeline is to work book questions as I go through each module. Wrapping up the last video by Dec 14. And will do nothing but review, review, review until 1/10. Oh, and take my holiday vacation at the end of December, yikes!

What review material are you using? When is your exam? What topics have you covered? Any tips yet?

How is everyone studying A-4 in Becker? I make flashcards as I go along and cumulatively study those to keep things fresh in my mind. Not sure if its worth my time to make them for each internal control process of the cycles or if I should just read /review the book to learn that.

A-4 is brutal. I'm on that now (Becker) and I'm trying to go through the MCQ but its an uphill battle. I'm missing a lot of questions in things that I should have down. I tried reading through the material….it really does seem pretty easy and is kind of common sense. But then the multiple choice just seems way harder than the material actually is.

Knowing the difference between tracing and vouching helps. But outside of that I am having trouble coming up with memory tricks to get the questions right. I know the material and understand the different transaction cycles. But the multiple choice questions are like riddles to me.

Yeah as I'm reviewing the chapter and making flashcards, it doesn't seem all that complicated but I'm guessing when it comes to the homework questions, it'll be a different story. I guess hitting the MCQs over and over will be the way to go. Do you have any experience in auditing? I spent about 4 years as an auditor with a Big 4 (spent the last three years in a non-accounting job though) so I'm hoping that helps when it comes to exam day.

I think I have a lot of it down – so happy! Typed up all the recently released questions for '11 and '12, went through all the Becker flashcards yesterday with a friend, all the lectures, typed up tons of notes, did most of the Wiley HW… now doing Wiley test bank and getting most of them correct. Yay.

one more day till AUD. been doing 200+mc's /day. always making around 70%. cant seem to get past that #.

i finished becker and moved to wiley. i do 90 mc's tests with breaks in between. each time with wiley test bank i select mc's i havent done before to avoid memorization of answers.

hope to do more mc's and get past 80% in a day.

one more day. should i review flash cards? read notes? or just mc's?

Hi all!

Will be sitting for AUD on Feb 26th for the first time. What would you recommend as effective reviewing method for AUD?

I spend around 4 days per chapter by reworking everything in Becker but wonder if Becker alone is enough.

Would appreciate your input on this section.

Can someone please explain how assurance & attestation relate? Is there a difference between attest & attestation? How do compilations fit into all this? Please Clarify! What audit services fall into each of these categories?

Figured I'd pop back in here, as I've since moved to the REG study group for February. I studied for all of December, roughly 5-6 hours a day, with the exception of the holidays using Becker's online course materials and the in class sessions (which are basically the online sessions in person). I took the exam on January 10th, and just received my score a couple minutes ago.

Passed with a 95! So stoked. This is my first try at any of the tests, so I hope they will all go this smoothly (haha, fat chance right?).

ok so i completed everything becker.

wiley MC's.(all of them) and now doing wiley mc's i got wrong by topic.(246 total) i got the most wrong in evidence.

if anyone out there is wondering what to supplement becker with. i'd say get wiley test bank. the questions are worded differently and similar to the once in the real test.

Bumping a prior question….how did everyone study for A-4? I made flashcards but I think I'm going to ditch most of them for A-4 and just keep hitting the MCQs in particular.

Also, are the questions from the Wiley Test Bank the same as Becker's? I'm using 2013 Becker Audit Self-Study and I don't want to waste the $87 if most of the questions will be repeats.

My experience with the Wiley REG 24 hour trial was that most of the questions were NOT repeats
