My fiance is on her 3rd try at FAR, having received a 68 then a 74 (along with a 74 in BEC and REG – all in a row!), but she has now passed AUD/REG – seemd to know that extra bit necessary for FAR and takes her BEC on Saturday.

The point I was skirting, is that you all study SOOO hard for this. I know she has slaved away close to 1000 hours between testing/retesting and only to be thrown into the hours that she works during tax season. We are even stalling the idea of getting married until this is all done just so we can enjoy our first year of marriage relatively stress free and not have to try to plan and implement a wedding during her study season.

I also want to say AICPA is obviously a for profit not-for-profit company. The fact that you can pay a couple hundred dollars to “rescore” a 74 is a joke considering they don't actually do ANYTHING but take your money, smile and tell you to buzz off. Also, as an educator I can respect the fact that tests are expensive and difficult to implement but if I took this much time to get back to my families/kids with their tests I would be out of a job within 2 weeks. (Yes…I do understand that this is much more difficult than a 5th grade math test, but COME ON….most of it is multiple choice done on a computer!!!) WOW! It feels good to vent since I feel like I have to tip-toe around her because I know she is frustrated and exhausted as well.

To all of you, the best of luck and remember to perservere during those tough times. It is that barrier to entry that means only the best and brightest can do it and in return make the living that you have the potential to do.

    promethius —

I feel for you! I'm putting my partner through the same stress that your fiancee is putting you through! We're still trying to plan our wedding for this September, and we've also decided to pursue having children and are traveling monthly to a fertility clinic. We've been putting off children since I started the exam this time last year. These added stresses are not helpful, but I know I want to be done with this exam before my wedding and kids are actually born.

My point really is this – while we're the ones who are going through the trials and tribulations of taking these CPA exams and the anxiety of waiting for our scores to be released – it is you: our partners, fiancees, boyfriends, girlfriends, children, etc… who are also suffering through this mess. Only we, the test takers, don't always realize this nor do we remember to take the time to say “thank you. thank you for being there.”

So, this THANK YOU, THANK YOU FOR BEING THERE goes out to all of you who stand by our sides during these hellish exams!

I have my twitter set up to text me the NASBA twitters… and I just got one saying 6169 FAR scores were released… and I was like DAMN… I was hoping more Auds would be released with it…

Then like a minute later I got another text/tweet from them saying 1184 Aud scores were released to day too!

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!

I am praying that I'm not only in that 1,184 but passed as well!

So, we should expect tomorrow night or Thursday night?

Yes, cpachick, if you go back and look at the previous waves twitters, they always send one tweet about the scores released that day. Maybe I'm getting too paranoid about Nasba, but me thinks that someone from Nasba has seen this thread (with the various Nasba get-it-together comments) and was psyching us with the AUD tweet sent three minutes later. Not cool.

I know the NASBA twitter person and will see them next week in Nashville…they wouldn't do that.

Twitter only allows 140 characters per post…

Good to know. 🙂 Maybe it just feels like they're jerking us around sometimes. But, 140 characters or not, historically they put the two together.

yea before they put the two together… so when i saw the one I was like DAMN… thankfully there was a second one this time 🙂

    I really hope I am in that 1184 and passed… fingers crossed…

But if you total the 1184 w the last Aud release the total still seems on the low side… so I am trying not to get my hopes to high… I was just starting to accept my wave 2 status and stop the compulsive refreshing… and now I am gonna start all over again!

Jeff, I am curious why the AICPA released additional audit scores in this release. Does this reflect the potential score that you received? Just curious why this has occurred more than once, since I have been working towards completing the exam. Thanks
