My fiance is on her 3rd try at FAR, having received a 68 then a 74 (along with a 74 in BEC and REG – all in a row!), but she has now passed AUD/REG – seemd to know that extra bit necessary for FAR and takes her BEC on Saturday.
The point I was skirting, is that you all study SOOO hard for this. I know she has slaved away close to 1000 hours between testing/retesting and only to be thrown into the hours that she works during tax season. We are even stalling the idea of getting married until this is all done just so we can enjoy our first year of marriage relatively stress free and not have to try to plan and implement a wedding during her study season.
I also want to say AICPA is obviously a for profit not-for-profit company. The fact that you can pay a couple hundred dollars to “rescore” a 74 is a joke considering they don't actually do ANYTHING but take your money, smile and tell you to buzz off. Also, as an educator I can respect the fact that tests are expensive and difficult to implement but if I took this much time to get back to my families/kids with their tests I would be out of a job within 2 weeks. (Yes…I do understand that this is much more difficult than a 5th grade math test, but COME ON….most of it is multiple choice done on a computer!!!) WOW! It feels good to vent since I feel like I have to tip-toe around her because I know she is frustrated and exhausted as well.
To all of you, the best of luck and remember to perservere during those tough times. It is that barrier to entry that means only the best and brightest can do it and in return make the living that you have the potential to do.
