BA-yes the sims were very tough. I had 2 hrs 45 min going into them and had 20 min left when I stopped trying. I never feel great about sims, but these were especially long and all over the place. I am glad I had just taken FAR because I needed to know some reporting laws that were not in becker AUD. I would definitely recommend at least 2 hours for the sims so you can go slowly – that really shouldn't be a problem as the MC are not that time consuming, even on challenging questions.

Just finished AUD and I am worried…

When I took FAR, I left feeling 50/50. I wouldn't have been surprised if I passed or failed. Finished the exam with 5 mins to spare.

When I took REG, I was confident that I bombed it. I think I used almost all the time again, maybe 10-15 mins to spare.

I just took AUD and it seemed really easy. Simulations weren't bad either….I finished the exam in 2 hours and 45 mins!

This is worrying me, because it just seemed too easy. I did all of the Becker lectures and passmaster, but I didn't do any final exams or simulations. I put in way less effort and time, and was expecting it to be rough.

I'll just start prepping for BEC and pray to the CPA gods that I pass AUD!

I just took audit last wk and I've passed all other 3 parts but failed Audit already with an 67. I don't know what to expect bc I thought the first section wasn't bad, then the 2nd section was really hard and the 3rd seemed almost too easy. Do you think the 3rd got easy because I bombed the 2nd section? I'm kinda worried and just want to finish this exam.

The sims I agree were a little harder than usual even with plenty of time to work on them. And when I failed the first time the average seemed to be an 80 and they curved you down a little. What do you think about this, should I be worried?

I am planning to appear for Audit in Feb last week. Please anyone can advice on how to prepare for the same. Can anyone suggest the prepration pattern i.e how many hours to study per week and approx. revision time before exam. Is One month enough for the exam.

    FAR - 87 (10/01/2009); REG - 85 (10/05/2009); BEC - 88 (10/06/2009); AUD - FEB 2010

just took audit…..was long and grueling! I was so tired from studying it was hard to get through it. some of the MCQ's were very familiar and some of them were tricky and I got too confused. The sims were okay….overall I have no idea how i did.

I took my AUD exam last week, I thought the first testlet was pretty good, but second one was really hard…and the third one was ok. The sims had some tabs that were just things I've never seen before and I felt like I bombed one tab completely.. but the communication/research tabs were relatively easy. Overall I have no idea how I did…have to study hard for my next one!

Took Audit this morning. I have absolutely no idea how I did?! Along with BlondeAccountant, there were several MCQs that were very familiar; however, there were several that I had no clue on how to answer! I'll be lucky to not have to take this one again. Oh we'll.

I took aud today too. Nothing crazy but some jumped out at me and some were like huh? Overall i couldnt gauge if it got any harder cuz one ques was easy then then next one hard and this repeated throughout the 3 testlets. By the third testlet my eyes were killing me and i was thinking about the cigar i was going to smoke in a few hours. The sims were smaller in amount of tabs but required more work than i had to do for FAR. I took 30 minutes per testlet and an hour each for the sims. My advice as others have stated, to anyone about to sit for AUD is make sure you have 2 hours for sims. The MCQ either you know it or dont …but was harder to back into the answer than for other tests. Finished with an hour to go. Feel better about it than i thought I would but this scares me too..ahaha…good luck to everyone else.

    FAR(11/09) - 83; AUD(1/10) - 94; BEC(2/10) - 83; REG(2/10) - 88

ILOVECPA, I totally agree with you! some of those questions, the way they twisted some words around I was like Huh? And others I totally knew. My sims were OK….not too bad but not too easy. I used the whole 4.5 hours cuz I reviewed things again, so afraid I was going to make a mistake by not reading each question carefully. After the third testlet I took a 10 min break cuz I just couldn't think clearly anymore. 4.5 hours will do you in a lot more than 2.5 hr BEC. After the break I went in and pushed through the rest. Was so tired and drained at that point!

This was my 3rd time taking audit….and I have passed the other 3. I thought this and REG were the worst.

ILOVECPA and Blonde Accountant–were there sections from Becker/Wiley (or whatever review material) that you thought were more heavily tested on the exam than others (i.e. reporting more than internal control?)

Almost there – There was a good variety on there, but make sure you know the differences between the qualified/unqualified/adverse/disclaimer report formats and make sure you know the IT stuff. Is this your first time taking it?

Blonde Accountant–sadly, no. Third time. Studied with Becker (67,68) switched to Yaeger and re-started a study program. I feel 100% more confident going into this test. IT was a section that I wasn't going to hit as hard, I will definitely brush up on that. I feel like I have the reports/opinions down pretty well. I am taking it on the 19th, so I have time to nail down things that are not firm in my memory yet.

Now you all are really making me nervous because it just seemed too easy to me – looking at my FAR and REG score, you can see I am no prodigy. I think I am intelligent, but I am no accounting God!

I am undecided if FAR or REG was worse. I am leaning towards REG.

Atrus- I firmly believe that your scores on the other parts don't really have anything to do with how well you will do on a particular subject (I passed BEC with an 80, REG with a 79, and FAR with an 80–can't pass audit). FAR was the hardest to study for, easiest to take, in my opinion. I do tax, so I thought REG was easy. It's really easy with Audit to get comfortable with the questions, but unless you really know the WHY behind the right answers, it will be a challenge to take. I'm hoping third time is the charm for me.
