@jimbo: Here's my advice for tomorrow: Make sure you're 100% solid on the AICPA Code of Conduct, all reports (including compilations & reviews) and their modifications (explanatory paragraphs, qualified, adverse, etc) and audit sampling. These were things that I reviewed most heavily before today's exam and I'm certain this is the reason why I didn't feel the testlets getting much harder as I progressed.

I said on page 20 of this thread and still stand by it now that I know I got an 81.

    FAR 88 (07/15/11)
    BEC 83 (08/31/11)
    AUD 81 (10/15/11)
    REG 83 (11/26/11)

I'd concentrate on FAR, get it done and then concentrate on AUD.

    Hi Everyone,

I finished writing my Audit exam yesterday, it was my second try, I got a 73 the first time around. I used Becker (2011) to prepare myself for the exam. I think Becker did a pretty good job in preparing me for the exam. As for the exam goes, the MCQ were pretty similar to the Becker material. A4 (Transaction cycles) was not tested heavily, besides the few basic questions. I found the MCQ to be a bit more easier than what was on the Becker exams. However, I could not have told if my exam was getting harder, each window had its share of easy and hard questions. Maybe, I was well prepared for the exam, I think I would have made educated guesses on about 5 of them and 5 I had no idea about.

Now for the SIMS, I must say that these were some difficult sims. I only got one research tab, which I got bang on. There were two other sims which were manageable and i am pretty sure, I got those ones as well. However, the remainder of the SIMs, when i saw them I was like WTF!!! There was one to do with adjusting entry, that was insane, I had no idea about it. I dont know why they would throw an adjusting entry in an audit exam. The other ones were on the topics we studied but something I did not see in any homework questions or anything similar.

I am hoping to get atleast a 50% on 4 sims out of the 7 and atleast 80% or more on the remainder 3.

I just hope I passed, I really dont want to study audit EVER again. Now its time to move on to the 2nd exam, BEC. I wish everyone good luck on their exam and we will get through.

Can you guys help with this question:

which of the following is least objective:

    peer review

    self review

    external review

    investment review

Self review. How would you like to grade your own CPA exam? Lol. Same concept. Anything external provides more objectivity than anything internal.

Ok, I have a question. Are there alot of calculations in AUD? The Becker MCQ's don't have very many. Mainly just ratios. Am I going to be ok? I've finished A1 & A2, starting on A3 and I'm getting in the 70's & 80's first time through. I know I haven't got to the rough stuff of A4 yet. I'm scared I'm missing something. Any advice?

    FAR - 63, 79
    AUD - 83!
    REG - 37, 79
    BEC - 70, 79

    hello,

for those of you who have taken the AUD exam this testing window…….were there any questions relating to “international auditing”? and were there a number of questions related to “audit sampling”?

i am struggling with the audit sampling section and maybe i'm making it more complicated than it actually is.

    thanks for your feedback 🙂

i'm scheduled to take the AUD exam on thursday, nov 10th. i have done the becker mc questions 5 times and the simulations a couple of times each. i just want to pass this exam and focus on BEC (again)! these are my last cpa exam sections and hope to pass this year.

@twest, if you have the basic financial ratios under your belt, you should be fine. When I took it, I thought the exam was light on calculations and much of it felt like concept testing in addition to just knowing facts cold, like knowing what kind of opinion to give based on a situation, for example.

@macista95, both of the above topics are tested but it's really the luck of the draw. See my post above for which topics I thought were most important to conquier AUD.

    FAR 88 (07/15/11)
    BEC 83 (08/31/11)
    AUD 81 (10/15/11)
    REG 83 (11/26/11)

@kasiaS, thank you for your feedback. i am going to review audit sampling tomorrow and possibly view the lecture one more time. perhaps its not as bad as it appears, but i will do best to conquer this section of AUD. in respect to international audit, i am going to review but not much m/c questions to do. what do you recommend for inter. audit study material? by the way, i purchased the ninja aud notes and they are helpful. thank you for your advice.

I feel like Bill Murray in Ground Hog Day. Here we go on Audit (3rd try). Using Roger cram, at least he is entertaining. I need that for Audit because it is so dry!

Good luck to everyone testing this upcoming week !!!!

@macistna95, between the two topics, I'd definitely focus more on audit sampling than ISA. In my case, I think my knowledge of audit sampling greatly helped me pass the exam and probably helped me compensate for a few possibly botched SIMs. In either case, since ISA is a new addition to AUD, I suspect that many of these MCQs are pretest. I think you should be fine being familiar with the material and know the differences between US GAAS and ISA. I don't think the MCQs will bee very in-depth if you do see them.

I've never used the NINJA notes because my review course was very comprehensive and I didn't feel the need to supplement further, but I've heard good things 🙂
