ihatestudying,
I use cpaexcel and cpareviewforfree.com. I use cpaexcel to introduce me to the topic, do the exam questions only (PQs are useless in that software IMO), read the text, etc. I use cpareviewforfree.com to go over the section that I have already gone over in cpaexcel to review. Joe's explainations are very well done better than Becker and CPAExcel IMO (I've used both before Becker in my Big 4 days…ha ha…had fun trying to study with a year round busy season…I hate Becker btw not a fan at all).
What I love about Joe is if I'm ever stuck on something he's just an e-mail away and he is very responsive. Can't say much for Becker, I hated their lecture classes and my instructors sucked because all they did was play the stupid lecture videos and sit take naps inbetween hour long videos. CPAExcel is great at answering my questions as well, but they separate their forums by section so I have to remember what section I asked the question to see the responses so I just use Joe instead. CPAExcel has the simulations so I use that to prep for the sims. They also have the full practice exams and you can take as many as you want so I use that the week before the exam.
Basically what CPAExcel has been weak at (HORRIBLE lecturers for the IT section, lack of CAPM model for BEC, and Tax Section of REG) cpareviewforfree.com is great for. For AUD though, cpareviewforfree.com is perfect. I assume I was hitting the hardest sections of the exam given my score and his questions focused me on what the exam would hammer me on.
