Well I found out last week that I failed AUD (69)… I used Becker. I passed BEC and FAR the first time I took them… so this was a big bummer. I'm already half way through the REG study material. Looks like I'll be taking REG the end of April and retaking AUD the end of May. From what I've read, I'm guessing I didn't do enough practice multiple choice questions. I just felt like my exam questions were very vague with more than one possible answer.

Bshep… I started studying with Becker at first. I feel there is more to read within the chapters but not many questions at the end. I began reviewing the Wiley books this week and there is not as much reading to do but so many more practice questions. They even have sample simulations at the end of each chapter. The Wiley books are cheap if you want to use those for the practice questions and Becker as a second source to review material from.

The becker software has plenty of MCQs to do. After watching the lectures, doing the MCQs, making notecards, and reviewing the book again, i am scoring mid-80s on my 2nd time through the MCQs. Just finishing up my review of A4 now… the test is Saturday!

    NY Candidate using Becker: FAR (2/20) - 81, AUD (4/3) - 92, REG (5/3) - 95, BEC (5/29) - 89 DONE!!!

Thanks! I think I have resigned from hardcore studying… Got an 87 on a practice test tonight, which is much better than I ever did for FAR and I passed that!

Just throwing this out there now…

The AICPA will forever regret giving me a 73 on AUD. I am going to do so well on this exam the second time that they will probably have to consider implementing the new exam format early.

    Just sayin…

    BEC: 87(11/08), REG: 80(2/09), FAR: 80(11/09), AUD: 73(2/10) 82(5/11)

Part of the similations contain a question where you have to answer a research question by locating the appropriate response in the research materials. All relevant material for your exam is there. You can use that to find answers for other portions of your simulation that you don't know. It definitely helped me today.

    NY Candidate using Becker: FAR (2/20) - 81, AUD (4/3) - 92, REG (5/3) - 95, BEC (5/29) - 89 DONE!!!

CPAwannabee, I also wished I had taken the exam right after college; I have been in industry for many years, went to public accounting 4 years ago as an auditor and have been trying to pass this exam the past couple of years. I have signed up to take REG on May1, AUD on May 27 and BEC July 31. As soon as I get my NTS for FAR I'll schedule that one for early in July. Hopefully, this time around I will pass all four.

    Good luck on yours!

christian, just do the multiple choice and simulation practices. review the sections they say are covered the most on the test and you should do fine. just keep practicing and know why some answers are right and why some are wrong. dont just memorize what the answers are, know why they are what they are and you should do fine.
