I'm beginning to feel really scared, frustrated, nervous, etc. I am taking Audit Tuesday, 5/18 and up until last night I have been scoring between 77-90 on the mcq. I'm using becker and now when I take a progress test on the sections I'm scoring between 40 – 60??!!!?? Any advice? Up until yesterday I was feeling pretty good about audit but now I'm getting the sick feeling.

    BEC – 77; FAR 4/13; AUD 5/18, REG 7/23

Well, took AUD this morning. Hopefully, my last exam (of course I dont have my results on FAR yet and I think I did NOT do good on it). Audit was by far the easiest of all the exams. I felt like I jammed on the M/C. The sims, not so sure. More issues on not really being sure what they were asking rather than difficult subject matter. The becker simulations and exams were way more complex than the actual exam. Of course, since I felt okay about this one, i will probably fail.

    REG 89 (02/17/10), BEC 80 (03/01/10), FAR ?? (04/10/10), AUD (05/15/10)

I'm Taking Auditing Tomorrow…5/16. This is a Pass and I'm done or Fail and I lose BEC situation…Needless to say, I'm a little nervous…Fear can be a great Motivator….. This is my 1st time taking Audit and I'm using Becker…with some help from Yeager Cram. I'm focusing on Ch. 3 and 4 since those are the hardest hit…Any other advice would be welcome.

Good Luck to those that are spending another Sat glued to the books….and to those that have already took it.

Kewinnett, I am in the exact position as you I re-take Audit tomorrow and I am waiting on FAR. I hope I pass both of them. So you felt that Becker prepared you well for the exam? I got a 68 the first time I took it. Any advice on my second time through?

I am having problems w/the severity of the departure for reporting.

For example, for a Gaap departure….I understand for a MAJOR departure it is an adverse opinion and for less severity it's qualified.

How do I know whether it is major or not….how do I know when to do qualified vs. adverse?

CPA-Valenz, I've done thousands of MCQs so far….Actually Adverse opinion is for a VERY Major Gaap departure….and the MCQs I've done in Wiley and Gleim usually give you an obvious choice on what's very major…..for example, when a company's mgt. fails to disclose and capitalize a material capital lease….will lead to an adverse opinion….but when a company discloses a change in accounting principle is a gaap departure which leads to a qualified opinion….

I recommend you do all MCQs on reporting and you will see the pattern of questions……don't bother reading the text…do the MCQ!…..

    BEC=77, FAR=78, REG=73,74,80, AUD=70,69, 84 DONE!

CPA-Valenz: As NJ said, you just have to read the question. In all the questions that I have done, it has stated “material” when it was material, and not when it was not. Or it may state something like “has an insignificant impact on the FS”, that would be qualified, less severe. I found in all the Becker questions where materiality was NOT mentioned, the answer was qualified. Hope this helps 🙂

I took AUD last week. I had to take REG and AUD on monday and tuesday because my NTS was about to expire and the only time I could take them was after finals. REG went surprisingly well, but I don't want to get my hopes up.

I arrived at the testing center at 7:30 to take AUD. NO ONE WAS THERE! I waited around until 8 and finally called the hotline listed on my NTS. After being bounced around and put on hold for a really long time, someone showed up at the testing center. At this point it was 8:50. Of course, the person who came was not in charge of the testing and could not let me start. Finally, at 9:30 the right person came to help me. From what I gathered, the sweet old lady who is in charge of testing slept in for the first time in 20 years. I was definately frazzled when I started, but I think I did ok. We will see

futurecpa86 – good luck! I personally think Becker was a great help. Of course, when I decided in December to do this, I just signed up for Becker. I did the questions ad naseum in all sections.

I took audit this morning. The first testlet seemed really easy and I seemed to breeze through the first 30 questions, and then I got to the second testlet and then I hit the brick wall! Second and third was pretty bad, I barely remember the third testlet. I was able to answer everything in the simulation. Now I'm just numb!

The wait begins – I'm hoping to get FAR in the first wave since I took it Apr 13.

Good luck to everyone who is still waiting to take audit!

    Impinkny,

Sounds like you did well, since the test is adaptive so the harder it gets, the better you're doing. Would you say that your exam consisted of a significant number of calculations or not really?

As I look through all these forums I almost feel like I am the only one here having a WTF moment. It is now the 18th and there hasn't been so much as a whisper about scores release. I thought everyone was expecting an AICPA release at least by the end of today.

The AICPA never ceases to amaze me with this exam

    MASS - BEC 79, AUD 75, REG 80, FAR 71 FEB'10, FAR 71 JUN'10, FAR NOV'10 77 and I'm spent...

    FAR - 93 , AUD- 96 , REG - 90 , BEC- 5/29
