    Hi everyone:

I’m taking my first CPA exam ever. I decided to tackle REG first. Now that it’s getting close to crutch time, I would love if you all could give me feedback on my study plan.

    Using Beckers:

Review a chapter for 2 days – Reworking the questions and sims. As well as taking notes.

Rewrite notes every 2 days, thought this would help reinforce more of the info.

Then in my last week: Take the Practice Exam 1 and 2

Thanks in advance, I really appreciate it !

Just to clarify, I am assuming you have gone through all the material and this is your review phase?

I like the study plan but I would put a heavier focus on working MCQ over and over again. I have always found that rewriting information is very helpful to retaining it.

Once thing I might recommend is working through the MCQ and making flashcards when you don't understand a topic or want to retain the information. I did this heavily as my exams approached and it helped me retain the information.

Also I like the idea of waiting to take the practice exams and make sure to give yourself a day at the end to just relax and mentally prepare.

Spartan15, how many flash cards did you do per chapter on Reg? I have around 100 flash cards per tax chapter plus the ones becker provided, and its helping me average around 87% on the tax chapters, and 90% on Ethics. I might do the same for B-law, but a lot less cards because I just don't have the time.

I was probably around the same amount for the actual chapters but I think what helped me the most was doing them for the actual MCQ. I wouldn't write out the actual question (that would take way too long) but I would write out any of concepts of the question that I found were difficult. Then I could go over them all at once and it was just really helpful for retaining information.

I didn't rely at all on the Becker flashcards because I felt like I was learning more by writing them myself so I can't speak to those.

But if you're at around 90% on reviewing the questions I would say you're in a pretty good place and to just keep doing what you're doing

Spartan15, you mentioned on the other post that you supplemented becker with Ninja, were you able to complete all the ninja questions, or you just did them the last week of review?

No not even close. I just bought Ninja because for a lot of the Becker questions I started to have them memorized so I wanted to take a fresh look at new questions.

I probably did maybe 400 of them? I would have gone through more but I started to get burned out as it was my 3rd test in 3 months.
