I just received an email from Prometric stating that my scheduled exam has been cancelled and to not show up to the testing center. Thing is, my exam is on the 27th of April and the email states they’re still planning on reopening on the 16th of April…

Anyone else receive an email like this?

@Park OUCH!! That hurts! Try to stay focus on your exam preparation while you figure out your next testing date. My FAR exam is this Thursday, May 21. My last two cancellations were both a week before my scheduled exam. I haven't received a cancellation so I hope that doesn't happen to me.

I'm in a bit of a pickle. I was scheduled to take REG on June 8th. I got 2 emails from prometric, saying that my exam would be cancelled due to the social distancing requirement. My NTS expires July 12th. I can't get any exams in NY until after my NTS expires. I tried reaching out to the state board, but they weren't of any help. They asked me to complete a form, which doesn't list covid on the Exception To Policy form.

Has anyone else had this issue?

Your NTS will be extended. I kept bombarding my State Board with emails until I got a response. Even though I would get sent back a non-personal email response I just kept replying back.
I don't think your NTS will expire. They are all supposed to be extended across the entire nation when the test centers closed.
Try to stay positive.
I have only one section left (FAR) to pass but my test was cancelled two days before my REG credit was to expire. But I did get an email that my credit will be extended through the end of September. My FAR test is scheduled for May 30.

Thank you. I'm hoping it gets extended – but when I emailed back the generic e-mails & “guidance” on their website says that only NTS that expire as of June 30,2020. I've been constantly emailing back. I'm seeing that CA & IL have granted longer extensions, and I”m hoping NY follows suit. We shall see, this is way more stressful than busy season. 🙁

NY has been hit the worst out of all the States. So, hang in there. It has been distracting and eating my energy in a bad way. I need a clear mind to study and this black hole of the unknowing is so distracting.
But, we will look back from all of this and appreciate we made it through successfully. We will be called the Corona-virus CPAs. LOL. We will have bragging rights of what we went through.
No I am just concerned that I need to wear my mask for a full 4 hours while testing. Ugh!

Prometric has canceled my appointment one hour before the exam today.
I have tried to contact them by phone but it has been impossible nobody answer (1-800-936-2433).
I would like to reschedule as soon as possible, before the 10th.
I cannot reschedule by myself because my appointment still scheduled.
What should I do?

Oh gosh. At least all exam credits have been pushed out. For Cali, exam credits are pushed through end of year [12/31/20].

What state are you testing in?

I just took my last exam May 30 and was afraid too it was going to be canceled. Which it was not. But I know your frustration.

Keep trying to call prometric and bombard them with emails.

It is my last exam too.I am in Miami, Florida. This is so frustrating. I will do that, I am still on hold on the phone 4h already. Thanks!

Thank you for your comments. They picked up the phone after 4.5 hours. I rescheduled for June 10th.
For others with the same problem, the phone number is 1-800-936-2433 be prepared for a long hold but it works.

Sorry to hear that Lily. Why would they cancel the appointment just 1 hour from the actual exam? Couldn't they give you an earlier notice? I would've been hella pissed if this occurence had happened to me. They need to correct their internal control quickly because this is absolutely heartbreaking.

You said it. It just to add more stress to candidates. I had the same issue last year during Hurricane Dorian. They closed for 4 or 5 days knowing that Miami🌀 weren't in the forecast path of Hurricane Dorian and didn't expect to see tropical storm conditions.
It is the same test center that was closed today, without explanations. I have learned the lesson that's why I rescheduled it in Forlauderdale, 45 miles away.

Just got the email from prometrics stating that my exam schedule for july 31st is cancelled.
For those that have experienced this, does the follow up email in 5 to 7 days contain additional dates to take the exam or should I call them directly?

I didn't wait for the email. Call this phone number 1-800-936-2433 Monday thru Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, be prepared for a long hold. They will reschedule your test immediately. I was on hold for 4.5 hours.
