6-8 weeks of quality studying. Many recommend 20ish hours a week. If you start spending more time then that, then you start forgetting what you studied in the beginning weeks.

    FAR - NINJA in Training
    REG - NINJA in Training

    REG - 77*

    FAR - 57

I can't speak for Becker users, but I put in 140 hours over 2 months.

Your mileage may vary. The right amount of time to spend preparing for FAR depends on your learning style, how quickly you learn the material, how much time you have available to study each week, and probably more factors.

I used Gleim and spent 11 weeks studying. 8 of those were focused weeks, as it took me a while to “get in the groove” of studying since I had been out of school for so long. I also watched a lot of youtube videos on subjects that I wasn't clear on and that took up a lot of time, but time well spent for me.

    FAR - 08/30/15 - 90
    AUD - 11/12/15 - 92
    REG - 01/19/16 - 82
    BEC - 02/29/16 - 83

Passed all on 1st attempt using GLEIM (full program) and NINJA (MCQ only)!!!

It depends on your financial accounting background. If it is all pretty fresh in your memory, maybe 6-8 weeks. If it is new to you, you may have to go over things twice to 3 times. Yes you risk forgetting what you learned initially, so you will have to start looking back at chapter 1 while studying chapter 6 for the first time if your timespan is nearing 3 months.

Becker is ridiculous if you ask me. I started in March and just finished chapter 9 (I don't study on weekends). So, its taking me like 12 weeks. I did AUD in 7.

I just took FAR, first time, first exam. I also work in NFP (Private College) so Gov/NFP was my strongest section.

I did about 230 hours of studying spread over 14 weeks. It was really more like 5 hours per week for the first 4 weeks and 20 hours per week for the final 10.

    Good luck!

I started studying FAR in middle of August and took the exam in a week before Thanksgiving. I spent about almost 200 hours. It was definitely a beast.
