So last weekend a lot of us did a power study weekend… Since it is a holiday weekend in the US and super nice out it may be a challenge to stay focused and push on. I don’t know about anyone else, but it is nice having support from this community to stay motivated. So whoever wants to participate I challenge you all to another MCQ power weekend. I have less than 10 days until the next exam about just over 1000 Ninja MCQs left to complete the first time through. Anyone up to the challenge to do 750+ MCQs in this 3 day weekend??? I am shooting for 750 but would love to finish all 1000. It can be done who is with me!?

For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.

@tncincy What's up? I haven't touched any of my CPA materials all weekend, wanted to have fun for once, of course I overdid it. I guess its about time for me to hop back on the grind. I'm signed up for BEC (again) on Oct 15. I will probably aim for at least 100 MCQs for the day.

    AUD - 1st - 60 (12/12), 61 (2/13), 61 (8/13), 78! (11/15)
    REG - 55 (2/16) 69 (5/16) Retake(8/16)
    BEC - 71(5/16) Retake (9/16)
    FAR - (8/16)

I was aiming for 200 today after a late start but the Ninja MCQ has been loading so slow and kicking me off over and over…this happening to anyone else? I'm about 20 questions short and about to call it quits.

What browser are you using? I had a lot of problems with Ninja MCQ being slow in the past too. You need to have Java updated and apparently Google Chrome doesn't work so well with Java anymore. So might want to try Safari or Firefox. Maybe try deleting your cookies and cache too.

    FAR - June 2016 - 88
    REG - July 2016 - 89
AUD - Aug 2016 - review phase currently
    BEC - Sep 2016 -

It seems to be super slow during certain times. Like at night it always seems way slower and Sunday nights. I just assumed more people were on during that time.

@tncincy and @mtaylo24 what is the goal for this weekend?! This week was so stressful at work and Friday night I started cleaning the house and crashed after making dinner by 9:30….stayed asleep until 11am today! Prob needed that extra sleep, but feel way behind for the power weekend! I don't know what is a realistic goal anymore because I almost never achieve it and then feel bad by Monday.

@nancyd8, I've been out of the country for the weekend for a wedding, but I have a flight tomm to get me back in the mix. I figure that I should bang out 200 to make up for lost time. Its October, so im officially on the clock for BEC (and other sections)….Best of luck!

H gang, been off the grid trying to regroup…I didn't do anything for the weekend, but I am getting the books out tonight. I have extensions to get done but I intend to go full tilt starting tonight. I might have to study for two parts to fit in two parts before the end of the year……….I NEED A PASS

    It begins with a 75
Been here too long as a cheerleader....ready to pass

@mtaylo24 I am also starting to run out of time and BEC may drop off…….year end is coming too ah! Didn't get much accomplished last weekend..a girl hit my car in the parking lot when I was in the library so that has been fun along with some medical issues. BUT MUST STAY focused this weekend!

Took today off to study! Anyone have any tips for audit? I just don't get this stuff and have less than 10 days to learn half the material. Should I just start to memorize the material? I've attempted to “learn” this stuff but it seems to not be clicking…..

@NancyD8 sorry you're struggling with AUD. It can be very confusing. Just continue to review the procedures, study flash cards if you have them, and work the MCQs. You'll get it! I have REG in a few weeks (it will be a re-take). This is my last one, but it has given me heartburn. Do you have any tip(s) for me? I'm very impressed with that 82!

@Go.For.Broke Just study Individual and corporate tax. Know every everything on schedule A and all the basis stuff. I wouldn't waste much time if any on BLaw but that's just my opinion. What topics should I focus on for AUD? In a time crunch and seriously stressing!

@NancyD8 – I don't want to upset you, but I unfortunately have too vague of a recollection of AUD to be able to provide specifics on what to focus on most. It was the first one I passed back in mid-2015. If you're using Becker, they usually have a good breakdown at the beginning of the text book about what is weighted most heavily on the exam. They also stress the importance of knowing the Auditor's opinion paragraph and the manager paragraph. I think there's a mnemonic about it in Becker: MR DIM REPPORTS CRIMME.

@NancyD8, Seeing thats it's been almost a year since passing audit (wow!), I'm not sure how much I remember or how helpful I can be, but here it goes… Know all of the diff engagements (they are more important than an audit engagement), know the reports (including IC reporting), group audits, going concern stuff. I wouldn't over stress about sampling. The different transaction cycles are obviously important for both IC and evidence questions. Know all of numbers and limits, i.e. Years for audit rotation, cooling off periods, years to keep workpapers. For sims, take a sec to run through basic JEs, practice audit risk, and know how to compare balances and for others, you can use the AL.

    AUD - 1st - 60 (12/12), 61 (2/13), 61 (8/13), 78! (11/15)
    REG - 55 (2/16) 69 (5/16) Retake(8/16)
    BEC - 71(5/16) Retake (9/16)
    FAR - (8/16)
