What are you going to do with your free time after passing all parts?

    Hey everyone!

I just took FAR for the second time and I’ve started studying for BEC (hopefully my last exam). Ever since I started the quest to become a CPA, I’ve found myself starting sentences with…

“When I’m done with the exams, …”

Me, myself, I plan on taking lessons in ballroom dancing and competiting, also starting a youtube cooking show with my husband, and picking up sewing! Although I am in accounting, I’m really into the arts. I need the hours I’ve used for studying to fulfill my artistic side, before I go crazy!

What about ya’ll? What are your plans with your free time after you pass (and you will!)

Nam I hear ya on the gym going. I haven't gone to the gym in a couple of weeks and I feel awful…I think I'm going to stick to simple jogging for 30 mins until after busy season and BEC. I can't waste time doing weights right now. I just need a quick fix of calorie burning to get me through the awful eating habits that go hand in hand with studying (for me, at least).

Aww traveling….that's another one…but my husband just got injured in basketball, so I guess we'll take that $ and save it :/ so not as fun haha

Do you feel that thinking about these post exam activities helps you focus on studying or distracts you?

I think I'll get out more 🙂 haha. Or try getting masters because I want to teach.

@ henryv I too have the goal of a Masters looming over my head…

I thought you had to have a doctorate to teach (in college)???

I'm starting to become interested in the prospect of teaching some time in the future. My husband (who has no previous knowledge/experience with accounting) is in the middle of his first accounting course (online). Of course it was assumed I would help him with understanding the concepts and what not, which I must admit, I was not looking forward to. But now about half way through his course, I actually like helping people understand this stuff.

So teaching is something I'm considering as well. If I could get away with only getting a Masters (for now) and still be able to teach, teaching may not be so far off as I had originally planned…

let me know what you know about the degrees u need. 🙂

I asked a colleague of mine and she said her professors in masters were CPA's with experience and with masters? (? since she omitted the part where they have masters) or PhD holders. So, since it's a masters class, I would assume that the same is also applicable to an undergraduate. Well, if you have more information about teaching, please share your thoughts! 🙂

Go on vacation with my boyfriend to celebrate, even just a weekend away or something. Start baking again (haven't baked in months), pick up some new hobbies or activities. I wanna try some more craft projects. And def try not to look like a slob all the time like I have been ever since I started studying! 😉

You can look for CPA or CMA review classes to teach, if you aren't trying to be a serious teacher. I teach some locally and really like it. The gal that taught those classes previously was promoted and now has a regular FT teaching gig there.

Does anyone know how long you're given to get your edu credits? I'm in MD so I could sit with 120 credits but I still need like 20 credits or something. How long do I have? Will the CPA or ethics exam expire?

I plan to start my own tax and accounting business. I'm looking forward to the chance of generating a second income. Would love to get the business up and really going and take on some CFO services clients.

    Should be fun.

Finally get back to the gym!!! Other than running in a Rugged Maniac race in September, a 5-mile Breast Cancer awareness walk in October, and trying out Curling this past Sunday I haven't done any exercise since I started studying last July!! I've managed to not put any weight on, but I've definitely lost a lot of muscle.

I am also considering taking a solo skydivers class. I LOVE skydiving and I've done 4 tandem jumps in the past 3 years, but I'm really considering getting certified to jump solo. Although now that my husband and I bought a house, I'm not sure I want to spend the $$ on the class.

I leave the house at 7:00 AM, study during lunch, and go straight to the library after work so I get home around 8:30 PM usually.

I have been daydreaming of being able to workout during lunch and not study!!! I have such a gut that needs to go away.

Too bad I am stuck studying until at least July 🙁

    @LSNYC

I'm with ya on that one. If I am done with this exam March 11th, I told my friends I want to be out of town every weekend in the summer! Beach, mountain, or the bay. I want to soak up every minute of free time. I might take a week off just to be lazy 😀
