If you look at my scores and dates, you might think this process was easy for me…but it really wasn’t. I first started studying for Reg in Feb 2011, but I wasn’t able to take the exam until August because I went through 3 bouts of tonsillitis and finally tonsillectomy. By the time I took Reg, I was feeling so down. I felt like I just didn’t get it and maybe I had to work as a tax preparer for 2 years to prepare for Reg. The curve must have been huge because I passed. I was shocked. I used that pass as a springboard for the rest of my sections. I knew I did not want to repeat any sections so I had to do things right the first time. This meant endless months of studying on and on. I seriously had no life. I hated my life and at times it did make me cry and I was pretty depressed the whole time. What’s worse was that I was an auditor at the same time. It’s a stressful occupation. Another thing is that I could never avoid wasting precious hours in traffic. Literally everything in my life was put to a halt because of these exams. My social life, dating life, career, my health, and my sanity. This experience has taught me so much. It has really helped me appreciate all the little things in life. After all, I know how it is to not live.
I really have so much respect to those who do this while having a family. I wouldn’t have been able to do it. And last, but not least, I couldn’t have done this without everyone at A71! I was so lonely throughout this process, but this forum is such a morale booster. I seriously spent more time on this site than studying! Haha. I want to stop by once in a while to see how everyone is doing. Particularly to the following ladies: CPA628, Jomarie, Kricket, Mrs 300, and Peanut. And to the following freaking hilarious goofball dudes: goodluck2everyone and CPATerminator (congrats you two).
Thanks for this wonderful site Jeff! It is truly a great asset for our sanity during this process. 🙂 And you are a very kind and giving person.
