    Hello,

    I was just wondering if it was possible to break into a BIG 4 firm, outside of campus recruiting?

    I am currently establishing a few strong connections at PWC via networking (ie. partners at the firm). I was wondering, if having connections such as these might get me through the recruiting process, despite being out of school, since 2010. I’m hoping that a lot of the hiring occurs through informal means, such as these. I know that the recruiting period has typically ended, but do any informal offers occur, after the September college recruitment season?

    I sure hope I can somehow sneak past that barrier to entry.

    B=84 This exam was such a b**** that I thought I failed-don't know how these things work
    A=76 Slacker I am, I'll happily take it
    R=81 I LOVE taxes
    F=80 I don't wanna get banned for an expletive I'm thinking with "yea" proceeding it

    Big4 has very specific and detailed plan to recruit new hires every year, but im sure they have flexible schedules for experienced hire. I've seen people going back to school for random degree or Master in Accounting to re-apply jobs as a “student” status. Ive seen people who worked at small local firms for 1-2 years and transferred to big4 as a staff 2 (typically one year exp in big4) or worked 2-3 yrs at small or regional firm and transferred to big4 as a senior. There are many options to get into big4 but You will get surprised how those people at big4 work so much. I'm in tax in BTS and my scheduled hours thru Jan to May 2017 are around 1300 hrs. Good luck!

    65-80 Hours a week is not bad. My last firm, which was 7-8 people would exceed 110 hours/week for the last 2 weeks of tax season (1,300/20 weeks).
