Fired from Big 4……Need Advice Please - Page 3

    Hi guys,

    I just found out today that I was let go by a Big 4 firm in Boston.

    I only started in August 2016.

    I have no idea what to do now.

    Any advice?

    AUD - 91
    BEC - 86
    FAR - 87
    REG - 79
    I'm done!

    FAR - 87!!!
    AUD - TBD (8/15/16)
    REG - TBD (10/01/16)
    BEC - TBD

    I realise it's easier said than done but just keep plugging along. It's not about you personally it's about your competition for a position and the subjective opinion of the employer as to which of a couple dozen candidates is “best” for the position. Right now you're competing against other public accounting alumni who either were let go like yourself or want out. Few weeks, you'll be throwing new college grads in the mix. You're qualified to be a senior accountant in real estate but if you're up against someone with real estate experience they've got more leverage. It's only been seven weeks that's not so long.

    Unfortunately, you would have to continue going to interviews and sell yourself until there is an offer. There are no easy way around it unless you could get a job thru networking. However, each interview should be a learning experience for you to improve your interview skills or resume. I have been to many interviews. I always try to learn something from the interviews for my next interview.

    Isn't it the time for big 4 to hire experienced associates now through August?
