COVID + NTS Expiring = terrible nightmare

Hi guys, my entire family and I tested positive for Covid. Unfortunately my NTS expires 12/31 and my test is on 12/31. I’m in CA – has anyone tried to apply for the exception to policy from NASBA? I emailed them but its office is operating at a slower pace than the DMV.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I haven't applied, but if you complete the form with the required/valid documentation, I can't see why your NTS couldn't be extended. I think a positive COVID test in less than 14 days away from your exam is much reason to extend. I wouldn't be surprised if you do not get a response before 12/31, but I would guess they will honor your request as long as your email submission of the documentation and form is prior to your exam date. The form seems to give you at least 30 days after the “extreme circumstance”. I would even consider copying your state board on the email as well (if they do not already have a form/process publicly documented for extension under extreme circumstances).

Oh perfect! I can almost bet you won't have an issues then, and maybe someone who's gone through the process will chime in as well.

CODID issues are abounding, as it really impacts life. I hope that they can work through the accommodation process. The CPA review that I am using, UWorld Roger CPA Review, has been consistently been giving updates on their Instagram page regarding the CPA-related COVID issues.
