I have couple of friends who work for Big 4 firm, i think they have inside referral program or something of that nature. Does it really work? Is it possible to get an interview if someone puts my resume up on the inside network or whatever it is? Just curious.. definitely not dying to work for Big 4 but i’d probably go if they offered 🙂

I can confirm that it works. I had someone put in a referral for me and received an email from one of their recruiters within 3 hours. I had an initial phone interview, an in person interview and a technical phone interview over the next few weeks. From the day the referral was input to the time of my offer was 22 days.

I would also like to add my experience and say yes, it does work.
A director submitted my resume for a position we did not think I was qualified for as it appeared to be more of an IT position but for some odd reason the job description also said one of the requirements was a CPA.
I got a call back from the recruiter who explained to me the position and why she was not able to push me forward to a formal interview.
Just a side note, she was super-nice. She absolutely did not have to waste her time talking to me but she took thirty minutes out of her day to chat with me and get to know my story and why I was applying for the position.
